Earlier this summer, I went with a couple of friends to check up on some cars they had in storage. The '37 Buick convertible has been there for over 30 years and the '37 ford sedan delivery has been there for over 29 years. The Corvette has been there the longest. I think they paid $100 per year to store them and a few people have been known to save their spaces at a $100 per year while they searched for their next project to store. The '58 Chevy wagon isn't as dust-free as it looks in the photo, but it is obvious that it hasn't been there for 20 or thirty years. The Jag is owned by someone in NY. It was his parts car for another Jag, which was retrieved a number of years ago. The little black Chevy convert has been there for about 30 years and it is very nice! The property has 8 storage barns. These car photos are all from one barn. Who knows what's in the other 7?
Looks like the Holy Grail to me! Get in the other 7 barns and post more pics. Aside from that, I wish I could get storage for $100 a year! I've got cars I need to cut loose for lack of space already.
WOW I have anyways wanted a 37 sedan delivery that's one of them if I ever win the lotto that's what I'm getting cars thanks for posting now get in them other barns and take some pix
Brilliant inspiration - thanks for posting. What part of the country are you in where dirt floors are ok?
I'm sure all of the owners of those cars will appreciate your friends taking you there and taking/posting photos of their cars that they thought were in secured storage buildings, just to get a "barn find" scoop. I don't find it a barn find at all......just an invasion of privacy. I'd be pissed if some ****s brought a guy with a camera to photograph my cars in a secured space I rented. Just my opinion.
Hemifarr*** you will note that i never mentioned what state they were in...i never pictured a landmark...i never showed a license plate that you could read...and other precautions were taken that wouldn't be precautions, if i revealed them to you.
Damn, calm down... It's not as if he published an address of where to find the cars or where the owners can be found so they can be punished for hoarding cars for 20-odd years. If barn space were truly secured, there would be individual locked stalls for each car and would cost $100 (or more) per month.
I was in a similar barn about about 15 yrs ago with a friend, used to be a chicken farm so there were 4 buildings long narrow with low roofs, they were kind of paved, I think it was more like pea gravel with years of chicken **** that had hardened into rock. 68 camaro drag car that last ran in the mid 70's, bought and raced new. 57 chevy 2 door and 2 4 doors couple of vintage tractors various late 40's 4 doors about 25 cars in the building I saw. Its in Illinois, good luck finding it, Ive driven around and cant locate it again myself.
Exactly what I thought only I kept it to myself. Your **** is only as secure as "YOU" keep it. Just goes to show you, We will never run out of Old Tin. The Wizzard
Yeah that is cheap..... But, It doesn't look like the cars are being kept in clean and rust free condition???? The people storing their car's there should at least put a car cover on them. Just my thoughts. I would rather store my car where it might be a bit more expensive but knowing it's gonna stay clean and rust free. But don't take me wrong, that's a very cool find!!!! HC.
Wow. That's good stuff. Just one barn already had some really cool stuff in it, can't wait to see what's in the other barns. Thanks for the photos.
If there is a cpuple of hundred cars stored there i guess it's at least a thousand person's that know about it, and live much closer then the majority of us. So i would not worry to much, about posting here.
If the owners gave a **** in the first place their cars wouldnt look as bad as they are. Maybe if they gave a **** they would have gone over there and put a tarp on them or something. I bet you turn the lights off to jerk off dont you. Calm down...I really doubt they think they way you do. Yeah the first thing I thought of was going straight to those buildings and stealng them or destroying their "private property". Eat your vitamins...
how is alot of people storing there projects "hoarding"
If the owners gave a **** in the first place their cars wouldnt look as bad as they are. Maybe if they gave a **** they would have gone over there and put a tarp on them or something.
What !!?? Yes cause we all know everyone with a project in storgae washes it a waxes it every weekend,,,gimme a break,,The fact that they are paying to keep something in dry inside storage instead of outside under a trap shows they care,,and like most of us when the time and $$ presents itself these cars will see the road again.
Hey Mike (Hemifarris), just so you don't think that everyone thinks the same way I'm with you on this. Maybe not everyone who has a car parked there is too concerned about it but I'll bet a majority do. I lost three cars to a fire that was deliberately set by someone who couldn't get inside the building so thought "If I can't get to them I'm making sure no one else does either." Anyone who thinks that invading privacy is cool has never had the experience. If anything bad happens to any of these cars because of someone posting on an internet message board.(and they are only doing it to be "the big man on campus") I hope they will step up to help cover the loss. ***holes, everyone!!!
