There ya go! Now you have a plan. And eventually, you'll probably have to come back home, at some point. Would you consider a passenger? Or are you riding your unicycle?
Seriously, this all sounds a lot more positive! Sounds like you're off an a great adventure, too. Savor it...

In the book of tire smoke
    written in scorched 30 weight
and sung by the choir that showed the flathead the door
lies the truth and the myth

Blurred by the acceleration of time
wagging it's tail down the path of least resistance
some parts are lost in the violence
and parts never seen before appear en route to the next round

ET slips and logbooks connot tell a lie
until they are written read and interpreted
and tire smoke masquerades as clutch dust
    caveat emptor

Please. I'm trying to keep it out there, but obviously ran out of pertinent info days ago.

So, CTFuzz, if you could be any kind of animal, what would it be?

Okay then, here's something pertinent: After playing my D-28 HARD for the last 33 years without incident, it picked this week (when I barely played it) to finally get tired and go all whacky on me. Long story short, it's on the chassis jig now, getting the bridge and saddle shaved, along with dressing the frets, etc... should be killer now. Just waiting for glue to dry - hope I have time to track test it before hitting the salt...

What's the speed of light? I always wondered how fast I'd have to drive before I outran my headlights. Is it faster than 140? Because that's my personal best, so far.

The TV or home version? Actually, I keep pretty busy just working on my own music...
But there's bound to be someone at Speed Week who can play it..... any volunteers?

Has this become the OFFICIAL "request" thread?
    Scotty post up your playlist.
Will there be satellite connection so those of us who will be unable to attend can tune in?
Will you be pressing limited eddition vinyl of the session?

Well, I write all my own stuff, so unless you're my secret stalker, you probably don't know my music. But just for grins, here's the set list:

Roll - About working on your car all day, then taking a test drive into town...
Model A Beater - Self explanatory.
Here's Salt in your Eye - Juxtaposing the LSR experience with a woman I met there...
Our Greasy Romance - About another gearhead woman I met. We knew it'd never work, but...
The Ghost of this Town - About my personal John Milner.
Jocko's on the Move - About Jocko Johnson.
I'll drive you anywhere - Follow up to Salt in your Eye.
Throw Gravel - About those Sunday drives with the family, back in my childhood.
    Hot Rodder's Lament #3 - It's a secret...
Crossed Up - About life on the (nostalgia) Drag Race Trail.
The Grin on my Face - The reality slap of coming home after a week on the drag race trail!
When the Circus came to Town - An overview of the organisation of drag racing and where it may be headed...
Roll Overture - A look at how rodding fits into the big picture.*

That's the basic list, subject to change. I have several more hot rod tunes to choose from, not including instrumentals (of which I have many).

The original plan was record the Bonneville and MoKan concerts for inclusion in the book (on CD), but the budget fell apart for that. If anyone wants to record this deal and bootleg it, that's fine with me, although I would appreciate a copy!
*: All songs copyright 2009 Squid Valley Music

  26. Is it scary that I know at least one of those tunes. BTW, your underwear are scratchy, use softner next time my bum is all red now.

Corn Boy: We grew up on the same music!

So this is my special gift to everyone who's watched this thread ping pong up and down the front page for a week: This is the final entry! You're welcome. Nexxussian and his dad are minutes away from Gosson Bros World Headquarters, right now. Tonight we'll be in Winnemucca, at least.
Thanks so much to everyone who helped make this happen! You guys are the best. Hope to see you on the salt and the sticky asphalt at MoKan...
    Scotty
