Sorry I took so long. This is a fast one from work...the striping was supposed to be gold-sorry.

  2. I need some help here. I have this crazy idea of taking this old International 4 door panel I found and using an old Chrysler subframe and rear leafs and rerend and putting it in the weeds. I was thinking of a metallic silver base with a heavily flaked bright blue roof. Can you guys put it in the weeds with wide white and black steelies?

  5. I think that looks awsome. I was thinking of bringing the blue all the way down to the bod line right above the handles and shaving the back handles. Of course the flag holders would be gone off of the bumpers and it would be cleaned up a lot. I think it would be a cool dailey for somethign different. Probably put my buisness logo on the sides for a promo thing.

Here is a rough and quick rendering.

If you could, post a few decent uncluttered photos of your car if you desire something better.

Can anyone suggest a photoshop-like program for a MAC.

  8. Ah, don't they already make Photoshop for a MAC. Check amazon.com and other places. Do a search for Adobe Photoshop CS4 for MAC. Besides the newer MAC can run both operating systems, OS X and Windows.

    My try.
I'm not quite talented enough yet to create flames from scratch so I had to find some to cut and paste on your car. That means I didn't get the yellow with red tipped flames you wanted. But I hope it gives you an idea of what it might look lke with flames. I would probably extend the flames to the front of the fender, but I didn't pull that off either.

  10. There's at least a few "Photoshop" alternatives thst should work on a Mac. They won't have all the bells and whistles of the full version of PS but they should do for this kind of work.

I've never used GIMP but it looks pretty powerful and there seems to be a version for OS X. It seems to get mixed reviews from Photoshop users, but it's FREE and probably worth looking into.

    The GIMP

Here's a list of some other budget/freeware photo editing downloads for Macs. You get to do the deeper research. At the very least make sure that they'll support working with layers.

    Photo Freeware List

Corel Paint Shop Pro isn't free but does a lot of the same stuff as PS for a fraction of the price, less than $99. I thought at one time it was available for Macs but it's not real obvious from their homepage. Maybe check on some of their older versions?

    Paint Shop Pro

And then there's also Adobe Photoshop Elements, a sligtly stripped down version of Photoshop. Again under $99 and less for older versions if you do a little shopping around.

    Photoshop Elements

Remember that you should be able to download a trial version of any of these program for like a 30 day free trial period.

I know my truck isn't exactly H.A.M.B. friendly but I get most of my inspiration and information from you guys and gals around here. . .Can someone "shop" this 66 Econoline Pickup for me? I've been tossing around the idea of painting it with some Hot Rod Flatz desert tan and sending the wheels to the powdercoater for some "rootbeer metallic" treatment. Here's a decent side shot to work with. I've already got my flame suit on, so if you must, flame away!!!!

Decided to to go with "rootbeerish" colored flames with black outlines.

Gloss black roof and satin body would work. It needs some shine on it somewhere though. Maybe chose a colour for the roof.

I think these trucks are perfect for a mild 60's kustom look. My take is to spray candy rootbeer over chrome reversed steelies and a Watson styled seaweed flame job with rootbeer flake and do the same to the roof.
