    Thanks to the H.A.M.B I've been in contact with Raefel Shields the builder and driver of the Funny Car altered wheelbase Plymouth.Today his wife Nancy emailed me some photos of the car.I'll let the captions she added to the photos speak for them selves.I hope you all injoy them as much as I did.

    I bet it hooked up pretty good. Where they had the back wheels sure looked like bite city to me.:D

    I blame you Skipper for making me want to get this car right!The Texaria Willys resto you guys did is first class.
     
  11. Funnycar65,You need to attend the Old time drag racer reunion held in Dallas every Dec..You will see the like of Mart Higginbotham,Frank Cook,Richard Tharp,Raymond Beadle..Dale Emory..and probably some I cant think of right now....

    Raefel did the front end and some of the mechanicals on the Pink Panther Vette.

    Cool pictures! The one with him squaring off with Tommy McNeely is priceless for me. I've started the ball rolling on a rough impersonation of this car, to round out my West Coast Funnycar Farm circus. Thanks much for posting them!

    Raefel has other shots of the Vette as well as some of the other cars he raced and did work on.His wife Nancy will email them to me as she has time.

    I found this 1 web surfing.It's the first photo I have ever seen of the car still with the 64 light weight front.I have 8mm. color footage of the car in 64 super stock trim,never a picture though.

    great pictures which version of The Funny Car are you building it as and are you going to eliminate the door posts and 1/4 window posts like in the one picture if so let me now i will buy them.

    I'm pretty sure Temple/Academy and Little River are different names for the same track. Neat place from what I've seen.
