Sorry if this has been posted before. Thanks for this.....from Javier Mejia, a great builder that was thrown off the HAMB. We miss you PS-let's bring back Cragars/Rockets/Supremes/Tru-Spokes...as I'm just not "feelin" these 13" Daytons that are being used now http://www.flickr.com/photos/80643375@N00/sets/72157594581005075/
I call the Belly Flop '65 Coupe DeVille a low rider even though it doesn't have hydros (I'm poor). Dig the ones that sit right....period.
not really my style, but i am amazed by the paint and body work of some of those cars. great pictures! beautiful cars.
That photo album rules....The 1st Gypsy Rose is my all time favorite..Its a shame what happend to it... Groucho, you'll going to get a kick out of a pic i'm going to forward to you.....You'll know where the inspiration came from...wink wink!!...SHHHhhhhh...lmao Javier was a ruler & too real!..
It's not "traditional" for most because of the era. I love it though, I have all of those saved on my computer, and I go over them looking for more details all the time.
Wow, thanks for putting up that link Groucho. Being from the east, namely Ohio, I rarely see lowriders. That is one of the many reasons I like to visit your neck of the woods, to see them! I didn't see too many when I was out for the LA Roadster Show though (there is always that nice display at GNRS). Guess I wasn't in the right places?
This gallery is pure Lowrider Porn, i think Graverobber put a link on the kool picture thread or in some other one, anyway, well worth looking at it, expecially to those that think that Draytons are traditional. PS I would kill to see more pictures of that 69 Mustang in Lowrider clothes (and a rumble seat???) but doesnt seem to come up ever.
I like the look, not wild about hydros but I get it. Awesome read about Andy's stuff in Garage mag too. The ol 61 bubble is heading close to that look but it's not totally practical livin in rural MI. The paint work wears me out too. Lots of traditional applications and imagination. Thanks for the re-visit.
I live a double life I have a lowrider and a traditional custom, my 60 Delivery has a Prohopper Chrome two pump kit and it has 100 spoke wires!!!! But dont tell my Hotrod buddies Oh ya I am in a Lowrider Club too.....Cool bunch of guys!
heard a rumor that Jav's latest ride just might be at this event http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=385734
Grew up in Baldwin Park CA, big hot bed for lowriders, so I have a great appreciation for them. I am a big fan of the Bombs, but if it rolls on Supremes, I love it too. (dont get the 13" Daytons either) My 60' elco rolls on wide-whites and Supremes and doesnt sit low enough for me. Love the link Groucho, thanks!
Very cool...I've always had visions of a Delivery done up like that... Has anyone seen the new section in lowrider? the "vintage" section or what ever the hell they call it...some kinda cool shit in there...Like the '69 Stang with a rumble seat, and a cool lookin' 2dr Vega? Wagon..
