  7. YES, absolutely YES. The 60's may have been the best overall for special interest cars. Paint (colors), tons of wheel choices, lots of chrome, mucho in "speed" parts, "Muscle" from the factories...................

Yep, thats a Morris Minor! :D

  11. Glad you like the shots Bonez.

The Morrie was run by Bill Croft in the late 1960s at Sydney's Castlereagh Dragway, as were the two VWs. The Morrie, Bill's Beast, ran a triple carbed Holden six and was metalflake green. Bill moved from the Morrie into a flake green T-bucket with an injected small block (there's a photo or two on my web site).

Dennis braid's Prickly Heat VW was one of the best looking and constructed altereds of the day and Dennis ended up moving to the States and working in the rodding field, particularly in the show rod side of things (so I believe). His metal-working skills were brilliant.

Satan's Chariot ran a Zephyr six with triple carbs and was built by John Williamson who, like Bill Croft, went on to race an injected sbc T-bucket in the 70s. John is still around these days, crewing on the WWII Nostalgia Top Fueller of Norm Longfield, which was the car raced by Jim Murphy and sold to Norm in 2005. The car is the quickest slingshot ever to go down an Aussie strip, with bests of 6.074 at 227.54 and Norm's looking good for running our first 5-second pass in a digger.

If you see any others on my site and you want to know about them, just ask away.

    Cheers.

Corvairs are weird little cars but I think that is why I like them.

Xdrag 48 that thing is bad looking, but it would really be sick with the engine set back into the firewall.
