Hot Rods Will this rear end setup work?

    Hi All -

    Will this rear end setup work? The stance seems OK but not sure if the articulation is correct.

    You need some fake rust added to disguise the wood..... Unless youre building a chevy!

    Whats the real reason you have the rear end removed though??!!

    With a nailhead, I'd double up the 2x4's and use screws and liquid nail.




    So did you break the last one or what?

    Broke an axle, while the banjo is apart I am switching to 3.54 gears, no time to work on the darn thing, and I had to move the car.

    Screw and glue with a nailhead? Sounds wrong. Nail a nailhead! :)


    I broke an axle, bought NOS replacement parts, and am also switching ratios. Bad case of no time, though, and I had to move her.

    Your set up will work only after you change out the black retainer strap to Red to match the other side and equal out the load.

    I was so conflicted with those straps - the black one screamed 'rat', and the red one 'cliche'.

    yeah , remember Red is positive and Black is negative, need all the positive forces you can get there
