I try my best to drive my Hot Rods as much as possible. I know alot of you do to... Around here, these people (obviously) think because you are in an old car... You are in MY way. people are fing nuts, was nearly hit the other day,some ***** in a van swerved around me INTO THE WRONG LANE and nearly hit me pulling back in front, I was stopped making a left turn. Other day i was coming to where a lane ended and merged into one, was in the middle of the lane merge when some dumb*** came flying up behind me and made me drive into the ditch to stop him from slamming into me, just couldn't be behind someone else on a two lane road, good thing is about ten miles up the road, i saw a state trooper behind him and the idiot in cuffs. score a rare one for the good guys. It also seems when it rains people go insane, god forbid you slow down because it's pouring rain and the road is full of water.All these counties complain about not having funds, put some officers out there and look for nothing but aggressive reckless drivers, money will be rolling in quicky
Yep, they let anybody drive don't they. Driver training and licensing is a cruel joke around here. Instead of airbags, they should put huge *** pointy spikes in the center of the steering wheels. That might encourage a few folks to drive a little safer.
I had to merge the other day and had a guy come up beside me so I had to slow down to get over, here I am signal on, and the guy behind me cuts over and thinks he's going to zoom by, I just go on over and get beeped at.. where the **** did you think I was going to go, ***hole? I flipped him off... was in a hurry to get over so he could get to the light at the end of the highway a minute ahead of me, I guess. And I was in a daily, not an on topic car. Like someone else said, people are just ****ing nuts on the road. I purposely went home from my trip on the two-lane with the least traffic instead of the interstate.
We have a lot of two lane country roads around here, not another car around,and some ***hole always has to pull up and ride 2 feet off your bumper going 70. coming home the other day, idiot behind me flashing his lights and half swerving into the other lane, finally flys around me only to realize he's behind a convoy of about ten tractor trailers, no p***ing all those on a two lane road, bwhahahaha I think I saw steam coming out of his ears after a few miles.
No matter how fast I go in my '57 I always get p***ed. Then they end up going slower then I originally was. Or I get tailgated a lot. Just because it's old, doesn't mean it's slow.
i was bookin 70 down the freeway in the fast lane, and was getting tailgated by an ***hole in an exploder. I slowed down to 50, and held my ground. i hate other people
Oh ya, I get it around my neck of the woods too. Small county with lots of tweekers. And they get on your *** even if you're doing 70!! Some people are just idiots when it comes to driving.
I hate it when im driving the Nova on the highway and people think its cool to drive right next to me for 10 miles checking out the car, mean while swerving all over their lane with their camera phone in one hand. Come on, get a good look and get the **** away. What i really hate is when the ricers do their little fly byes. They start about 2 miles back gaining speed and fly past you doing 90. Then they slow down. I'll usually run into them a few miles down the road at a stop light and flip them off while im pulling ahead a couple car lengths with a bunch of people in the car.

Couldn't wait to read all the thread, skipped to the end. I hate impatient people.... damn it takes too long to type......Im outta here this is too slow...... LOL It seems everyone has to get in front of a hot rod to prove their **** box is fast, unless were on a drag strip does it really matter? As for impatience you should try working in an emergency dept! I had a guy today come in with a drug overdose, he slept for a couple of hours while we monitored him. Woke up and complained about having to wait, he even complained to me while I was doing CPR on a patient!! He wanted to know why that guy was so important there were three nurses and a doctor with him!! ****ers! Doc.
I can second that; seems to be an international phenomenon. If people on the road would understand they should all be accountable for each other and maintain safe distances, motoring would be much easier. Sadly, we have gotten to a point where "courtesy on the road" has become completely meaningless.
After driving tractor trailer for over 20 years I'm convinced that it doesn't matter where you are or when you're there, that any other driver on the road is a potential idiot out to get you. I've seen more **** happen and almost happen from people that just don't have time to use any common sense that I could probably write a best seller
I get peeved at the idiots that want to do 5 below the speed limit in the left lane. I guess there is no real drivers education these days...
I find alot of people want a rolling car show. They speed up get way too close to look you over, then p*** to get out of the way cause they have traffic blocked.
I was riding in my buddy's '41 Chevy on the way to the beach when we were north on the Astoria-Megler bridge (about 4 miles long) and some idiot in a Super Duty swerves around and p***es (illegal on a bridge btw) 2 cars and a truck/trailer at about 70 mph, black exhaust billowing, then screeches to a halt at the red light on the other side about 5 seconds later....
Don't you love the Einsteins who hang right beside you on a multi lane road, mile after mile, slowing down if you do, speeding up if you do, and forcing you to brake because of slower vehicles in front. I had an ***hole streetrodder in a '47 Buick Easter egg do this to me three times in five miles. Eventually I did exactly the same to him and indicated he was #1 as he slammed on this brakes behind a tractor trailer crawling up hill. He didn't try it again and just hung back.
Road eticate ( sp ? ) is long dead,,its not you or your car..Damn Monkeys on the cell phones and everyone is me first and what and where ' I NEED TO BE ' No one seems to focus on the fact that they are driving a car anymore,,distacted by teh phone and whatever else.. It has gotten really bad where we ar as its a small country town.the roads were/nt built for SO MANY people ,,let along to be in a hurry.. and its city people use to the instant gratification ,,why is this hay wagon in my way ?? People get right up our *** with the horse trailer on back,,like can't they see ??!! and yeah but they only care about them
i never really run into problems when driving my older stuff, its always when i drive the ot cars that **** hits the fan
I agree that impatient and agressive driving is stupid, but this is just as bad. Hogging the p***ing lane. If you're not p***ing get the hell out of the way. If you are p***ing, just get it done and get over. Your life and everyone areound you will be much easire.
This is like when your pulling a trailer, any kind of trailer. People have to p*** you even if your going faster.
It's simple; Stay in the right lane. 'Most everybody is in the Left, afraid somebody is goin' to p*** 'em.
I love living out in the boonies. Very little issue with these types of drivers out here. ****head drivers were one of the reasons we sold our '48 Chevy p/u in 2003. Living in a city with a million people in it, most of them ****py drivers, made it no fun to drive the hotrod. Where we live now the nearest city (population only 45,000) is almost an hour away. I love it!
This **** Happens EVERYWHERE and its not only when in an Old Car, Happens when i am riding in my Girls Dodge Dakota or whatever. I had my '54 on a trailer behind a Newer Diesel Chevy just last night, On a 4 lane Street about to Merge onto the Highway when 2 cars past me on the right ...IN A BIKE LANE .... To get to the on ramp before i did. Funny thing is around So. Cal. I see MOST of the offensive drivers drive more expensives cars like BMW, MBZ, Lexus, Volvo Type stuff, They just cant be bothered with the Less Fortunate that drive this Old Annoying Junk !
Yeah, we have lots of "important" people in their leased BMW's and Mercedes here too. Even if you're in the fast lane goin' 90, they wanna go 100. I did notice however that when I was in Colorado on the 2 lane road that leads from Montrose to Silverton this **** ain't a problem. You see, with no guardrails and a several hundred foot drop to the rocks below, natures process of natural selection takes care of the ***holes.
My favorite is when just cruising on the hwy in the slow lane (less than 85MPH these days), minding my own business and some ***wipe rides my tail, cuts in front of me, then takes the next exit. Guess that is easier than just hanging back for a few extra seconds. I think a major part of the problem is that modern cars are so easy to drive and require minimum driving skills. This keeps getting worse. They keep designing cars for people who don't know how to drive and control a car. ABS, rear radar, automatic braking if the car thinks you are too close etc. Drive a modern car down the road windows up, AC on stereo blasting, not much road feel, can't hear motor, one can be doing 95 and it is like playing a damn video game. Which is where it seems the majority of people under 30 learned to drive.-HAMBers excluded, I hope.
