Nate Shelton and I were talking about this car on Friday at the NSRA nats. As one of the new owners of B&M Nate had tried to find the car to restore it but I guess that it is gone forever.
For those who are too young to remember this car was the B&M Torkmaster Spl that used a converter rather than a clutch.

Me too, this '34 is the epitome of a drag coupe...I think it was once the JADO coupe, belonged to Jim Kamboor and another guy, then got converted into a drag coupe by a father-and-son team, ran a blown Pontiac, painted a candy maroon. I think it also appeared in HRM. I also would love to know what happened to it.

Hi Rooman I had two of those Torquemasters, I gave them to Withers to give to Garlits for his museum as nobody wanted them.

It was owned by Jesse James at some point. I believe it currently is in the basement of the Petersen museum. Not sure if the museum or a private party owns it now.

Goodgawd!!! What an amazing collection of photos. I think I've seen a photo of just about EVERY vintage drag car I had the pleasure of seeing in my teenage years. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to this wonderful thread.

First post here, I've never owned a drag car myself, except for the radio control kind.

Anybody have Shirley Muldowney pics? Either I don't remember seeing them in earlier posts or there haven't been many.
I loved watching her, for another female she really made you feel proud of her accomplishments.

  24. Awesome Skip, keep 'em coming!

Got any pics of the dragster Hayden Proffitt drove before the stock cars?

Haven't been on the board in a while, had to take care of some medical issues. Here are a few pics from 1963 at Westhampton, NY Dragway. Sorry for the condition of the pics, they were the best I could do with a Kodak Brownie. The First is Eddie Sanzo with his A/G 4 dr Willys. The second shows how we could stand while watching the races. The next was Sanzo against Alpine Pontiac A/G
The third is Coney Island Ralph
