What's the Most Absurd Claim you've heard at a Car Show, Drag Race, Cruise Night, etc

I was at a store that had a `67 Corvette on display in it. Two old guys where checking it out and one of them starts telling me its just like the car James Dean died in. I said yeah except its a Corvette and was built 11 years after he died.

My neighbor works on some old honda motorcycles in his driveway. He was telling me about all the old Harleys and Triumphs in his backyard. My friends daughter reads the gas meter in his backyard. I asked her what was back there. She said just a bunch of broken wheelbarrows.

 

Had a guy tell me his sho ford taurus with the optional yamaha engine did a 10 second quarter mile.I politely told him i doubted it would do a 10 second quarter mile if it was dropped from an airplane.

 

That's way too funny! ...bitch. Ha-ha.

 

I would have paid a $100 to see that!

 

A bum tried to sell his '56 Oldsmobile (my '55 Buick) for $30k to everyone that walked by it while it was parked on S. Congress at the Roundup.

I hate to say it, but thats a true statement. I had a fiero and it would go all the way back to zero and keep climbing. The only thing is, they registered 85, and the space to get back to zero may have only gotten you to about 100. One day on the interstate it hit zero and then just spun back around again real fast, then never worked again. I must have hit 102.....LOL

Anyways, they would do that, just nothing to brag about.

Thats friken funny sh*t, I was in at the bus stop and i had a moon eyes shirt on and this guy tells me that he has a moon powered 32 at home but he doesint drive it because moon only lets him take it to shows... I called bull sh*t and he wanted to fight i had to walk away...

 

Yesterday I was at a 1st time mostly indoor show being put on by a RV dealer,lotta cool stuff rods,kustoms,restored etc. anyway this couple in their mid 60s have a beautiful 1911 model T truck with alot of brass.......so the proud woman owner is talkin to someoneand this kid and his girlfriend maybe 25 walked up and asked "So did you buy it brand new???".....I bout fell on the floor laughing

just last week i had a guy in some fancy sports car ask me if thats a kit car ...told him nope ...shit i wish they made a 1960 caddy convert kit i'd sum....

 

When I was 20 there was a maroon 69 firebird running around town. The guy driving it would always claim he could pull the wheels off the ground at least a couple feet and spin the tires at the same time all the way from stop light to stop light.

Don't you know stickers add horsepower???
I put an Eibach sticker on my snowboard, it added like 50 hp and I gt the down the mountain soo much faster....I was gonna add a "NOS" sticker, but I'm kinda scared to do that...

 

I spotted the guy 25 car lengths and beat him by 30.......................yeah and you were driving a Top fueler right?
