I missed out on the meet and greet (and of course a lot of HAMBers). I just couldn't get down to that end of the track in time. I saw your car all over the place this weekend and I was hoping, specifically, to see you but I hadn't. My fiancee loves your car and it was really great to see Big Olds in person. It really is a stunning car.

Alot of the times, with my photos, it's an inside joke........ or in the case of breakfast foods, specificly pancakes, it's a joke that alot of HAMB folks would get

Not that I know of. Will post a photo if I do.;)

I love the pics of the food and the parking lot activities and motel rooms and all the other little things, like just putting gas in the car, because we all do those things when we travel and I think those shots turn a good story into a great story. Makes me feel like I'm there. Thanks Denise, mmmmm I can almost taste that egg mcmuffin now.

  17. Denise (hotrodladycrusr) ... great thread ... thanks for sharing your adventure ... I'm looking forward to more pics from B'ville and the rest of your trip.

Just an FYI ... On Sunday, Justin Walsh bumped up the A/GR record from 236.741 mph to 253.449 mph in the Mariani Farms #346 '34 Roadster:

Justin also hold the A/BSTR record (238.060 mph set in 2002) and the B/BSTR record (241.137 mph set last year) in the Walsh~Walsh~Cusack #333 '32 Roadster (click HERE).

Note that the Mariani Farms #346 '34 Roadster is the old Salmen Racing $um Fun #734 '34 Roadster (click HERE) ... which currently holds the AA/FR record (263.781 mph set by Frank Salmen in 2003) and the AA/GR record (258.924 mph set by Chuck Salmen in 2002).

Here's all three of the Mariani Farms Bonneville Roadsters @ Speed Week '09:

  18. ... and on a somber note ...

(from the SCTA / BNI website) 08/09/09: Officials of the Bonneville Nationals Inc. report that Barry Bryant, 46, from Anderson, California, died after competing at the speed trials on the Bonneville Salt Flats. The accident occurred at 5:55 p.m. when his racing vehicle went out of control while traveling approximately 200 mph. He was transported by ambulance off the race track to Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Race Officials were informed that Bryant died before arriving at the Medical Center.

    RIP Barry

Thanks, thats how I feel too. Kinda just adds alittle something more personal therefore more interesting in my opinion.

Nice seeing you too buddy, sorry we didn't get to chat longer. I'll be in LA at the end of next month. I'm going to the RM Auction at the Petersen. You going by chance?

I leave in the morning for Idaho and Or-a-gun :D

YOU really need to take a road trip with me and Megan one of these days.

This is the EXACT type of information I really like to see added to posts, especially mine. Adding more insight and information adds substance to threads. THANKS for taking the time to share this info. Much appreciated.

I had a sausage for dinner tonight and thought of you. :D

:D I guess we should have had you kneel.:D

Those last few photos I didn't tag, nor yours completely either. I was practicly falling alseep while writing that and just wanted to though those photos up. Will edit shortly. Thanks for the reminder.

The "high speed" is painfully slow here tonight. I still haven't gotten all my Sunday, nor Monday, photos up therefore those days written. Maybe I should go pound on BobK's door and tell him to stay off the internet for awhile till I get my photos loaded.:D

Will hopefully catch up when I get to Brant AKA Jaws's place in Boise tomorrow evening.

  28. Denise, you have the best smile in all the photos. Someones having a good time.

I've been a blithering idiot about b-ville for some time now, just talked to my pops last nite and both of us (at the same time and in stereo I might add) said..."fuck it, we goin next year"....

    We've already started makin plans....

Pops got the travel trailer (with A/C) and I'm gonna meet him out there in my re-incarnate Chopped Sewage...

Oh yess....it will be mine....come here my pretty.....hmmmmm droool...

    Life's too short!

See ya next year bitches!!!! (there goes the meet and greet)

Oh and Denise...I've always talked you up (even though we've never met....though we've been at the same events way more than once) and appreciate the play by play coverage of events....It's better than watching the hockey puck tracker thingy on the tube yo!

And one last note, I dunno if you plan on drivin Big Olds down to the turkey run this year....but if you do, I'm gonna be mega pissed if you dont take a detour and stop by the pad for a pit stop long the way! (J-ville FL)

Great to see you again after far too long. Being seen with you is good for my reputation. That is, it would be if I had a reputation....

By the way, there is no such thing as out of the way if you have nowhere to be....
