I've wanted to do something on the doors of my 32 pickup for a couple of years and now I'm starting think why should I?

I liked the idea when it wasn't as common but I feel like it's overdone lately.,,just my opinion,,

BTW,,the Texaco deal looks good. HRP

Thanks, I did it myself! I agree with ya about the "commonality" of the shop logos these days... however Im building mine for a good reason.

My dad owned a cool old shop, the kind with the flat roof.. two big bays a store front and 2 pumps out front... it was Joes Texaco for years... till he went away from texaco to Aamco and a few others... but I like the ring of Joes Texaco... and its a cool logo. His parts getter was a 61 ford f100.. pea green... hince the pea green T... I aint painting that truck pea green! any who in 1970 while working on a customers car out front someone pulled up and shot him 3 times 2 went to the head... he was told he would never talk walk have any motor function... a few weeks and months later.. he was walking talking and doing normal things.. but he lost nearly all use of his right arm and right leg. He sold the shop a year or so later.... so Im doing this in honor of him and the things he over came. including a recent spell of colon cancer. so everything in the logo is symbolic... wings (someone was looking over him)... the T green like the old truck.. and the flame at the top of the Star cause he always told me he was going to light a fire under my.... A@# .. lol.. nah. I just thought it was cool. The truck will likely be semi gloss Black or Dark Blue.

Here's a couple I did for my friend Dave. This was his family's farm near Snohomish Wa. It's acrylic so it'll probably wash right off.

Well, I gots me a shop truck too!
It's a 1950 Chevy Panel Truck that I use for my pinstriping & graphics business.
The driver's side has 5 variations of 23k Gold, variated gold, and silver leaf. (I've added more to this since these pics were taken 2 years ago)
[IMG] Here's a bit more detail...

The p***enger side was an interesting accident. I had planned on using the candy colours, but where you usually paint a silver base down first...I decided to use silver leaf for extra pop. But then I thought, hmmm...silver leaf...hey, I could spin this! When the sun hits it, it's blinding!!! You can see this thing all the way across the parking lot at Wal-Mart!!!
[IMG] and more detail here too...

These are a pair of doors I salvaged from a local parts store shop truck that was caught in one of the fires out here a few years ago...
