Here are some pictures of our latest creation. The engine is an alcohol injected 406 SBC

The body is a 1930 Chevy with an 8" chop and a 5" channel. The wheel base is 168" and has a 5" dropped front axle with 30* of positive caster. The rear end is a ford 9" with a 4 link & coil overs. We are hoping the car will weigh in somewhere between 1500#-1800#.

The car will receive a wild 1960's style candy & flake paint job with colored windows, it will also proudly display our clubs colors along the sides.

The pictures above where taken today as we where loading it into the trailer to take it in for paint.

  3. B/Gas What? Bracket Gas?
From the length of the chassis, placement of the engine (moved more than 10% of the wheelbase)and location of the driver in front of the rear, it's a Altered Coupe/Sedan.

Just curious how on earth something with that wheelbase can run in a Gas Class. Must be some pretty liberal rules

    Looks like fun though

Love to see it making a pass! I DO, however, wish that some of these folks in charge of RUNNING nostalgia drags actually set up the class structure, umm...well, correctly.
    It's just a peave, I guess...
Now I'm itching more than ever to get the Gaslighter painted...

I'll second that. I go to a lot of nostalgia races and every damn one has different parameters for the classes. I would love to see a more uniform standard so I know my car will be meet the guidelines at any of the races.

Thanks guy for all your kind words and for your concern on a class for our car.

Heres the story on this exciting project. Originally we where going to build a gasser themed car but it morphed into what you see in the pictures above. We have yet to determine exactly what class it's going to fit into and will need to do more research with NPCA to find out where it belongs. We are confident that we will find a proper completive class for it the nostalgia program.

Whatever class it runs in, it's cool as hell! Looks like it would pucker your butt pretty good when you hit the loud pedal!

  16. That looks like a wild ride. What kind of horsepower are you running? I can't wait to see what it looks like after the upcoming paint job.

    Thanks guys,

I wont make the MSRA SSFR at BIR this year, but we are working hard to be up there with the GSTA dragster.

As for the HP, rite around 700HP or so.

Cool! Bring it to the next Hunnert Car Heads-up... tentative date is May 8 at Great Lakes Dragaway. With some luck, maybe you can run against the Chrome Czars' FED. :D

Building a race car without a class in mind is a sure way to end up not being able to run. Kinda looks like you may get saddled against the FED's.

All we are interested in is having a good time with the car, if we end up running it with the diggers then thats just fine with us, I'm sure the fans will enjoy seeing it no matter what class it's in.

  24. It looks neat, but I am confused as to what part of it is either nostalgic or gasser?

Maybe (apart from intent) only the "Mags" and the '30 Chev "Tudor" body, does look cool though!

Just kool as hell. Why does everything have to be in a class? Can't it just be kool without everybody gettin their panties in a bunch. The man says they're workkin on it. We aint gonna get to far if we all keep buildin the same model A
