What kind of Desoto did MrC drive on Happy Days?

  5. He drove something like a 48 Suburban with the roof rack. I think it was tan and brown two-tone with jump seats.

GotGas is absolutely right! The '57 DeS Fireflite & Adventurer are the epitomy of the finned era of U.S. automobilia AND of Exner's most artful work. This knocked GM and Ford on their ears for a few years!

    To past, one present.

    Left to right:

My old '61 DeSoto. built on the last day of production, and presumably number 6 from the end of the line. She lives in West Virginia now with an AWESOME caretaker.

The '57. She's off in Sweden now, oddly enough with a fella that makes reproduction parts for these cars.

The '58. What can I saw, she was free, but with the promise I would NOT part her out. Not a chance of that, especially with how well she runs! Slowly getting her in shape to do some cruising!

Here's an old picture that might fill the bill for your DeSoto request.
    '55 DeSoto.

Desotos keep finding me like lost puppy's. I got to stop bringing them home. :)

Agreed, this year De Sotos are ***s, what is? a 54? I'd keep it as is actually, they just need to be dropped and then good for miles of driving, at least IMHO.Anymore o'this???

Well, here's your custom job :D
The picture of it in red/white was probably about 3 years ago, and here it is at the Indy Motorama last Febuary. '56 Olds headlights, '56 Packard tails, Floating grill, removed bumper guards and a 3" Chop. Stock Hemi backed by a 5-speed manual. I've had this car going on 6 years since I was 15 years old and drive it mostly everyday.

Here's a pic of the rear right before I chopped it. This is at the Newport HillClimb back in October, I was racing it up the hill.

Every change you made is great. I always thought the '55-56 Mopars were some of the best looking '50s cars. The chop looks AWESOME. Still 291 powered?
