Thanks UncleScooby for hooking us up on this deal. This was a Hamb listed car that we grabbed from the cl***ifieds.

The story goes like this... Grandpaw bought the car new, gave it to his son, who kinda lost it (mental hospital) in '64. Car sat in a climate controlled ba*****t in Indy till last month. Granddaughter got car, wanted rid of it, then you know the rest of the story. In comes the Hamb.

A model Tudor that saw the road last in '64 is now in Tennessee. Absolutely perfect. No rust, anywhere EVER! Has good brakes, good compression, everything is there, totally complete. I found the car for my buddy T-Bone.

We should have it running around the neighborhood by the weekend.

Gotta love that! New pics to come ASAP.

Wow, that's incredible! That's almost as good as finding a museum piece.
What are your plans for it?

Nice car. Just like my grandpa's, or close, ours is a '29, my brother still has it. But of course there's some rust, isn't a bad thing. Here's our pride and joy after it was restored by my older and younger brothers in '95. I was voted out of the decision making process when I suggested we 'Rod it~! They did (let) me help with knocking rust, degreasing parts!:D

All original drivetrain (maybe some Hop Up parts), dropped axle, reversed eyes, old 5-spokes, kinda like this...

"Teeth"...? I don't know what you are talking about? It's an early '28 model.

But of course, your plan looks good to me. I would like to recommend that if you keep the 'Banger, to not split the bones....................

  14. Original A fenders have a tool marking along the edge of the fender- I'm guessing as a result of rolling the edge. They are visible and if you pull your fingernail along the fender egde, you'll feel it.

All the guys that go for a national 1st for AACA kill for them... we had a '31 roadster in the shop that a fellow had dumped LARGE amounts of money into (upper 5 digits) that had original fenders. The boss hated the car because:
    1) he got talked into a high detail restoration of an A (making a silk purse out of a sow's ear in his mind)
    2) just how much money had been "wasted" on the car
    3) the customer's wife cut off his funds...

We have no plans to split the bones... We want it LOW like the black car in the picture above. If thats not possible, then split we will... Supposedly, that car is all original drivetrain, with unsplit bones. We will see.

Never touched '28 fenders, with no ripple in the edge. Just perfect original Henry metal. I'm not a restorer though.

The "teeth" on the edge of the fender feel like the edge of a quarter or dime. Many old fenders have cracks on the beads, so it is rare to have a nice fender with the uninterrupted ridges running all the way around. I've spent many hours making Model A fenders nice enough to show the ridges all the way around. One of those obsessive things that traditionalist-type guys do.

We got it running tonight. Yep, sounds just like an A model... After all these years in slumber, filed the points, and fired right up the first try. Very Cool I thought.

Its amazing what a little smoke and gas fumes do to a crowd of guys. Alot of smiles around the garage.

By the way, it has the "Teeth" didn't believe it till I felt them tonight.

T-Bone ordered a new muffler and down pipe from Snyder's today (since we were open exhaust last night). New plugs, points, condensor, oil, and anti-freeze. Wheels are coming off this weekend going to the blaster. Powder coating and new Coker Firestones next week. Getting closer to a ride around the block.

The original tool bag was under the back seat with the tools and a few extra spark plugs. Along with all the roof insert material mixed with rat ****. The original wood floor boards are PERFECT... Never seen one this nice. It's an honor to get a chance to work on it.

Here's a few more pics of the car, more to come with progress.
