  3. Well I'm 23, so 3 years too old. I built my first car when I was 13 (1978 mercury grand marquis lowrider... I know i know, i though it was cool, still do haha) My dad was the one who got me into cars. He was an old school mini trucker from the late 70's early 80's, that got me into lowriders, which got me into kustoms, which got me into hot rods.
I started LG Kustoms as a side business in 2006 and went full time in 2008.
Here is some of the cars I've built for my self over the years.

My current car 1928 Model A
    [IMG]

    Another Current car 1958 Edsel

    My 1966 RCS Dragster

My winter beater 1950 Ford coupe
    [IMG]

My old 55 Pontiac (now owned by signal_11)

My old 61 F-100 finsihed it when I was 17

Now many of you are wondering how I acquired so much at such a young age. I got my first job when I was 13 working in a body shop and have been working ever since. (except when I had to go to school) Before I moved out on my own (age 18) I spent every red cent I had on tools and cars and kept wheeling and dealing and always trading up. And still to this day every red cent I have left over after paying the bills is spent on more tools and cars.

For those of you on Facebook, here is the Fan Page link for my shop.

Fu@$ you for real man.............bringing up some stupid rules because some of the people who posted on here are younger than 18. Be happy there are any kids under 18 who actually care about these rides. i can honestly say out of all my friends only a select 2 or 3 like old school american cars, the rest dont care or love ricers........ The way this nation is headed hot rods and the like would all be scrapped because of their outdated technology/poor fuel economy if it were not for the present and future generations to protect, preserve, and most importantly enjoy them. So what if a few of these teens broke the "rules".......... its just an online forum. Get a life.

P.S. I'm young, i like hot rods, kiss my a$$.

    I'm impressed.

Wish I'd had the resources, knowledge etc. to get into this stuff at such an early age. I've always loved cars.. always.

Got into motorcycles too, managed to build 2 of 'em, well.. most of 2 of 'em... started with complete bikes, tear 'em down, and reinvent them (with lots of help from friends). I guess that counts. =P

Picked up my Caddy about 2 years ago... had to take a loan, bleh. And economic stress lately is barely keeping it in my hands instead of the banks at the moment... so it's just sitting and waiting... waiting, waiting for it to be my first car build. Or rebuild, or whatever. I'm here everyday soaking up info. Drooling over awesome rods and customs. Learning, planning, getting ideas.

I'm 29 going on 19. I consider myself young anyhow.

Keep up the great work guys, stuff looks awesome. I'm envious!

  22. This guy has 1,816 posts but......

"1929 Ford Roadster. Engineer by profession (retired USAF) and may never finish the car due to over-analysis of each and every detail."

These kids don't post much, maybe because they're out in the garage getting something built!

    just sayin'...

haha well put i hope he gets his card
but is it me or is there atleast one of those asshole poepl on almost every thread lately?
one guy posted pics of his ride and had a billet steering wheel in a different thread and someone started making fun of him for having billet
and everyone seems to one talk about what they dont like about your car and try to make you feel stupid for it
im 20 years old so i meet the forum criteria but if i was 13 like ''ratrodin'' id be like him and say ''who gives a damn'' you can come to my house and walk to my computer and unplug it if someone really doesnt want me on here because of my age
this is a hotrod forum not an old man or an asshole forum

with that said lets see some more pictures i love this thread

  25. ... really dude, does it really matter.

Hope all you kids keep up the good work guys and just try to ignore the crotchity old folks. My son (19) is currently working on a lowrider '63 1/2 Galaxie that will have a 460 with 2x4's, he's also constantly working on his daily driver, a slammed 2002 Jetta Wagon. In the interest of full disclosure so as not to get in trouble with the "board police", some of the Galaxie parts were things I had laying around :D.

Oh, seriously though adjustablejohnsons, thanks for your service to this country that gives us the ability to mess with cars and goof around on the internet ;)

thanks, and the answer to ur question..cheap!..lol...the car was a 60s drag car back in the day. so i kinda stayed with that theme useing the stuff that they had on it before like the front axle and the way it sits, the wheels are newer stlye because they are the only ones i could get cheap and fast..

the block and heads were free..the carburetors and distributor were free to minus some rebuild kits for the 4 barrels. other than the gaskets and the valve covers and breather and odd and ends i got about 500 bucks in it..lots of money in gas though but who cares its hotrodding.
