I'm 17 and looking for a project. My parents aren't really against me getting an old car but my dad makes fun of me every time I show him a car I find. No one in my family knows anything about cars so I'm pretty much stuck there. There are no auto garages in town either...

However, I'm in Minnesota now visiting family but when I get home i'm going to go look at a 1950 Plymouth Business Coupe, a bone stock 1930 model A sedan, and a 1953 GMC 3/4 ton pickup. Someone brought up how you guys afford the hobby. I'm wondering that myself, at the moment I'm busing 12-16hrs a week at a restaurant, I would work more but Im a gymnast so I work out 20hrs a week. I'm not sure how many hours I'll be able to work when school starts.... I've only got about $2k saved up right now so i'll be back to ground zero after I actually buy a car.

hahahahhahaha great comment..."you dick" hahahahha nice especially after he calls someone a stupid fucking embarassment. Who goes off like that for mispelling...I bet he made fun of disabled people in high school. He is a dick.

So great that so many young guys are coming up. I think its better than playing Madden all day inside. The brain is a muscle so the more you use it the stronger it becomes. Using thoughts and problem solving skills in the garage WILL help you out in the real world later in life.

  19. I liked where this thread was going but now you are proving that you aren't too far behind the guy that critiqued you in the first place. Its best to ignore the people like that especially when he corrected you on your grammar and your responses back keep showing the same type of errors that he critiqued you for in the first place.
Sometimes I cringe at the spelling of some people but I usually just bite my tongue. I'm no spelling guru but I try not to sound uneducated. I am in construction but still try to spell right. There's nothing wrong with trying. You can download a quick app. that will help. When you get older, you will find that spelling errors can sometimes be very embarrassing in some situations. I use http://www.iespell.com/ Just right click on the mouse and hit check spelling.
I once sent a quotation out that was just a typo but man it was bad. In big bold letters it said Qoutation!!!!! It was for a $100,000 + job which I didn't get. Anyway, back to the cool thread about the young guns into hotrods!!!

i love this thread, and i love that this thread is putting the assholes down too
most other threads somone says something mean and everyone else just thinks its cool to agree with them...

anyways here are some more of my projects that i have built incase you guys wanted to see some more..

here are a few more pics of the 27 ford pickup
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

those are some pics of the build process of the ford truck
but i also like 4x4s too here are some of my 4 wheel drive projects..everything on the black truck was built from the frame down by me and from nothing but square tubing and 3/8'' steel plate, the truck was built for a speaker store advertising and is a running driving truck, then the blue ford was another project and my personal own toy, with over 800hp from a 7.3 diesel, heres some pics
    [IMG][IMG]

and heres some more of the 29 sedan that was built for my girlfriend who is also under 20 years old

Heya! Im 19 and got my hands full with a project that should be quite a nice car when finished. All original 1932 Ford 5-Window Coupe that I am currently gathering all the period perfect parts for. pro-built 312 y-block with all fenton speed parts with sp tops. Original Pines Winterfront 32' insert, original 25 louver hood sides, 18" milk truck wheels, assortment of 2 5/8" sw curved glass gauges. schroeder sterring. dropped heavy axle. C4 lincoln brakes and original halbrand culver city quick change w/36' ford bones. The list goes on and on. hopefully have the car done in a year or so. Just got some assembly to do.
