Does your wife/girlfriend like the hotrod scene

My wife dis some parts of it. She's been with me to the Round UP and enjoys the vendors probably more than the cars. But she insisted I get my new project giving me the excuse that it will be my anniversary present. As everyone else has said she loves that I love it.

 

Yes, she does the Pinup thing and has as much fun as I do at most of the shows that we attend.

 

For the most part. She hates the build..REALLY HATES THE BUILD! But loves riding with me and loves the shows.

 

My girl likes that I enjoy my car and gives me free time to play. Even after my accident, her concern was my health and how soon I could be back on the road.

 

My wife was a rodder before we met!

 

Ha, this is a funny topic, really made me think. My wife, of 13 years, hates my car and the fact that I spend a single penny on it. Funny thing is, in a real ass backwards way, is supportive of my passion and is a huge supporter of my club. She keeps all my boys fed and liquored up and loves going to all our gatherings and most shows that are out of town. I guess it must be the social aspect. If there is booze to be drank, guaranteed she's having a good time, which in turn means I am having a good time...wouldn't trade her for the world.

 

my wife of two weeks states that she "likes new cars", but as long as it's only got two pedals she will like mine when they move under their own power. She isn't stoked about my promise that no matter how many garages we have, or how nice her car is, she probably won't ever get a garage spot. She will go to shows. Disgustingly, she thinks that donks look "fun".

 

Nope, not at all. She doesn't even like riding in my cars. I use to have a girlfriend, 32 years ago that was into cars. Guess I married the wrong girl. LOL

Not only does she like it........she has her own car! 32gal is a true Hot Rodder in every sense..........

My girl says she won't ride in it until its painted!...leaving it in primer...

 

my wife loves it. buying her a 46 and she helps out where she can.

 

Heather...has a 09Mustang GT/CS,' 84 FXR, and a dirt bike. She is helpful and mechanically adept.

 

My Wonderful Wife of 14 years is not "in" to the Car Show/Hot Rod scene.
She did not come from a "Car family".
Her parents came here from France in the mid '60's and she's the youngest of 4 girls.

As long as she knows where I'm at,she's OK with it.
After all these years,I still try and get her to go even though I know it's not her "thing".
She does like the shirts I bring home for her though

 

well my wife took an auto collision course with me at the tech school if that says anything,and she's just a short little thing. excellent at hammer and dolly work and she had no idea she was.

my wife loves them, and has had her own drivers before-but hates the reality of what it takes to build and COST!

 

like alot of others on here...she likes the social side of it. she hates the build process...

funny though, she keeps point at 5window coupes and saying "why dont you just build one of those?" i guess she gets it even though she doesnt get it. over the last year or so she has slowed down on the nagging...

No, but my 2 1/2 year old loves it.

 

Wife #1 (High School sweetheart) acted like she liked them till we got married, then soon after wanted to know when I was going to "grow" up and quit fooling with cars. Left me for a guy that wore a tie to work.
Wife # 2 was a serious car nut, first time I met her she was drag racing her car. Pendalum swung the other way, all I did was build her stuff, after that no energy or money left for my projects. She never wanted to go to a show or race unless we took her car (and she always had to drive) and I couldn't go no where without her. After I figured out that it would never change I left the selfish bi---.
Wife # 3 likes old cars and would like one for a daily if it had A/C but doesn't like going to shows. She'll go to a big out of town show if we happen to be nearby on vacation or something but no intrest what-so-ever in the local stuff, prefers I go without her and doesn't mind if I do. OK with me, gives me some my time which I never had before. I wish she would get a little more into it but still better then the first two.

my wife + I have been married 37 yrs. next month. she enjoys the hobby when she's driving her vette. puts up with my habit and I try to spend time with her when it involves her interests.

 

Im a girlfriend and I love it! =) and my boyfriend loves the fact that im into cars, have my own, and can work on it =)

 

My wife supports my habit in every way luckily.....she likes to mingle so big shows are popular!

 

I love the building process!! Im enjoying restoring my belair. Its exciting expecially since it is my first one. But of course i wouldnt be able to do any of it without the help of my bf.
