Well... I wasn't going to get another project until my 32 Chev 5 window coupe was on the road...but I just could not pass up a basically free car so I ended up with a running and fairly decent 1948 Crosley Convertible. For some reason, unless it's a really cool Nail Head or Rocket engine i just can't handle the single carb look. The search began and a purchase was made today:

Unfortunately I think this will be in the shop before the Crosley gets home (the Crosley is very close but the shop is not fully cleaned up after my recent move).

I must have some sort of strange addiction as every carbureted vehicle I own has multi carbs... is there a multi carb anonymous meeting I can attend???

I need to find a multi-carbs anonymous meeting. “Hello, my name is Jim and I am addicted to multi carbureted engines, I could never stop at just one”

    1932 Chev 3X1’s
    1948 Crosley 2X1’s
1962 Corvair 2X1’s (but I have an excuse, it came that way)
    1966 Chevelle SS 2X4’s

I am sick and I don't need any help.......

Poor guy, this starts out as a 2 carb thing which will get you by for awhile. You become a good carb adjuster & rebuilder then your resistance builds. Then you will need three carbs which is the stage I'm currently in. I know it get worse because I've seen guys with 6 of them.

Okay, okay, okay... I'll get some pics of the Crosley! Here's the story.....

The car belonged to my grandpa, he drove it for a couple thousand miles back in the early 60's. His log book (found in the glove box) shows the last full tank of fuel in March of 1965. He put it in "Dry storage" after that tank of gas. Up until a few months ago it was still in dry storage.... I helped him get it off the blocks and out of storage and he got it fired up and drove it around a bit a few weeks ago. He's 90 years old and he decided he didn't need it and I did...... it's a good runner but there is also a 1950 Crosley that is not..... hmmmm.... my 7 year old thinks we should make that one into a dragster.

Braje also made a finned cam cover, finned side covers, and a nice finned oil pan, among other things.

Okay here goes..... I drove it home today....the old motor mounts have given up, I need to build some new ones... the rubber fell apart and the engine was torquing... can't wait to clean it up and drop in the Pertronix and the dual carbs! Also need to do some sort of mod on the battery box so the Optima fits.

is that the super rare crosley b-400.ha ha . also there was a gut here in cincinnati ohio that tested braje speed equipment for little mini speed boats. he had told my dad that there are a few fully equipt crosley engines in boat at the bottom of the ohio river . he was a cool old guy .

That car is cool . You can just throw your emptied cans out the back. Maybe some James Bond type seats to pop out unwanted riders .

haha! what a great little car. what do the seats look like? they look like red and white lawn chairs from what I can see in the pics.

I bet if you took that bumper guard off the front and put it on the back it would get better traction with that dual carb fire breathing mill you will soon have.

just makes you wonder who bought those little cars when they were new.

The seats are stock with what looks like 60's beach towel material over them.... check out the mileage and date, my grandpa has always logged fuel in a book in the glove box on all his cars.... hmmmmmm wish I had some of the other cars that have passed thru his hands!

Cool car, when i was young i remember my uncle had a small herd of them! In the 60's, the wash plates are nice and it looks like your kids enjoy it as well. You and gramps can going cruising once in a while.
