You now get to live just about every guy on here's dream!
It's great that all they did was remove the tanks, pumps, and signs, and didn't do any remodeling!
There is an old station in the small town my folks live in in Wisconsin. It just recently revealed its true identity when an old, ugly, past remodeling job was removed. . It's a Shell station that was built in the mid 30's. Not sure if the Shell signage(some of it is still on the building) will be replaced. It had been fully sided, and windows replaced the rollup doors, so most people had no idea about the building that was under the "ugly"! It's being restored as it originally was, and will become a beauty shop

That shop is too cool man. Its nice to hear a place like that is in good hands. How many small towns have we gone through thinking "Man, that place would be rad all done up." ? Looking forward to progress pics.

Most excellent, post some pics on oldgas.com, they should be able to help you with signage if that's your plan. Good luck with it!

We've all driven through small towns and seen old shops like that, and they never fail to spark fantasies of owning and restoring one. It's a rare man with the follow-through to make it a reality. You've got my respect. I hope it brings you and your family much joy for many many years!

Cool places like this in small towns is what I miss about the midwest. In boom towns too many of these types of buildings just get leveled to make way for the cheap, cookie cutter homes or another one of endless strip malls.
Glad to hear all the legal problems got fixed and you got it. Congrats!
