I have found a 1929 ford coupe that a lady has. Her father left it to her and she wants to sell it. What is it worth?? I dont need another project but could put it up and work on it later. I took pixs of the only rust that i could find, just dnt know if its to much work. The lady and her mother said her dad took it to a guy to fix the motor and get it running but he didnt like how the guy was doing things so he brought it back home. she has all five wheels and tirs for it, Also there is everything there for the motor and alot of new motor parts as well. I dont know what to offer her for it and I dont want to get burned. Any help would be appreciative. Here are the pixs

    "She wants to sell it"
Ask what she'd like to get. Whe someone has a car for sale-make them stste a price. never make the first offer. 4 grand would be a deal.

FWIW, It looks pretty darn straight and would be a great start for a rod. You can sell off the stock suspension and drivetrain parts to Model A restorers.

if you want to be fair with her,I'd say 2500-3500,if you want to beat her up give her the 500.

$2,000-3,000 wouldn't be way out of line. It is "real steel"...
The frame is pretty rusted in the back. Fixable but be careful...
Any idea what she has in mind for price?

That is a leatherback coupe that someone has added a chunk of 30-31 roof (rear window area) to, and also looks like the top insert was filled. You found a bit of rust, but not unreasonable. I'd say $2,000 would be safe.

Peel off Benjamins till she says ok, or stop when you might lose sleep.

I think around 1500 to 2000 seems about right. Does it have a title.
Offer her 1500 and go from there.

I hate these "make me an offer" deals, they always point to one thing... The person who has the car always thinks it's worth like a hundred grand.

It would sell for more than 3K on ebay here in Ohio. I've seen less go for more than 5k.

I paid $1800 for a lot less, and had to drive 6 hours one way to get it.

Not a bad price. I paid $1750 for one in much worse shape back a few years. She will get that price if advertised much. I would buy it without a second thought if it was close to me and I don't need another Model A. Biggest hang-up I would have is the leatherback top but it looks like the work in the back was done o.k.

Now you've got her thinking price... and she knows what she can get for it! The word will get out soon enough to ears that will pay her the 2500! I snoozed on a Zephyr a month ago and missed it. Look at it this way, you CANNOT get hurt on it (unless of course you let it go) If you decide in a few months you don't want it sell it for $3500 (make $1000 for your pain and suffering).. but let it slip through you fingers and you'll have pain and suffering and no car.

You put a phone # here for the woman and she will have her $2500 in less than an hour!

BUY IT! How many 29 coupes are left out there!!!!? Especially for $2500!!!

Snatch that thing up dude... If you don't want it later on you'll get your $2500 back no problem.

I would offer to meet her half way ... @ 21 hundred. :D

But I would do it in person ... with 21 one hundred dollar bills in my hand

    And I do not even need a Model A ... :)

Let's see the pictures of it on the trailer in front of your house. Everyone says to buy it so get going. It's not like I have all day to wait for the pictures. :)

For $2500, jump on it-tonight!!! Figure the title is worth $300- $500 alone. And the car is esentially complete; fenders, etc.
Like the other guys said. Take $2000 and wave it in front of her. If she doesn't bite, have the other $500 in your other pocket. Like i stated before, you can sell off the stock drivetrain to an A restorer to recoup some $.
You won't find a decent A coupe body for $2000 on the open market.

Up in my neck of the woods (west coast of Canada) that would go somewhere between $4000 and $6,000
