Damn, damn, damn! I'm still bummed I couldn't make Spokane. But, the time spent on my roadster was needed so I can hit the highways in the AM.

Could someone please explain these railcars to me. They were located around Enterprise Oregon.

At the fuel stop in Enterprise the local officer came over to make sure I knew to watch for deer and rock slides.:D

For those keeping track I was able to cross off the states of OR and WA that Big Olds has visited in the continential US. 3 more to go!

A TON of switchbacks in this mountain range
    [IMG]

These guys were just getting ready to cross when I approached. They actually crossed after I p***ed

When I got to Chris and Jamie's place in Spokane the BBQ was in full swing

Tinbender (on the right) greeted me warmly. We've been friends for 10 years, before the HAMB, yet this was the first time we met in person. ChopperImpala (on the right). Nice meeting you as well. I sure hope everything went well on Thursday with your wife.

Old Beet and his lovely wife Cindy drove over to say Hi and hang out. What a pleasure it was to finally meet my pal beetle after all these year.

Mrs Old Beet, Cindy. She was so funny. Kept calling me his girlfriend.:D

Got a chance to check out Chris's shop

When Chris said he was going to have a BBQ with a few people over I thought there'd be a few of us sitting around a picnic table in the back yard. Nope, full blown Wednesday night party!

    Lots of cars and trucks

Our host and hostess for the evening. Thanks so much for putting this together. I had a blast meeting everyone and hanging out. Also, thanks for much for the place to crash for the long weekend. I really appreciate your hospitality. Give Lucy a big old sloppy kiss for me. I bet she's happy to get her bed back huh?:D

I'm not sure if HAMB***ador is a word but you are surely it. Idaho looks much prettier than I imagined. You need to publish your 50 state travels in Big Olds. I'd buy it. I don't believe I've ever seen anyone have so much fun with one car. I love it.

Those railcars are the ones they stack lumber or plywood on.

Its cool to see the countryside and scenery, and your commentary makes it almost feel like we are riding shotgun.
    Thanks.

Florida and Georgia- She'll hopefully cross off this Thanksgiving for the Turkey Run
Maine we hope to tackle next summer

Basically she needed to get into the corners of the US of A.

Oregon looked a lot different than I thought it would, beautiful scenery! So sad I'm not along this time, feels like you've been gone for a year!

Megan is right, Florida and Georgia, which hopefully will drive thru in Novemeber on my way to the Turkey Rod Run if my boss will give me time off without pay cuz after this trip, I'm outta time.:(

Maine is the other one which I plan on hitting next summer. I did alot of the New England states the summer of 2002 in Big Olds on one of the Girls only Lipstick Runs.

It does feel like I've been gone along time BUT on the other hand I can't believe I'll be back to work on Monday.:(

Well I'm off to 5WindowJohnnie's place in Gunnison, Co about a 12+ hour drive today. Will do some more catching up of the adventure story tonight.

Eastern Oregon is very dry...suprised me too when I drove thru there after we went to Bonneville '07. Gotta drive West for the Oregon you're thinking of....about 1/2 way thru the state it starts getting a lot greener.

Sorry I missed you when you came through town... glad you enjoyed your Idaho detour. The loop through the Stanley Basin around to Boise is one of the best drives in the state...

    Excellent thread and pics, Denise!
You realize that once you have all 50 states done you'll have to start on Canadian provinces. :D

I promised Denise I would take the blame for her putting off catching up the thread last night. My family and I swung thru Jackson last night, so my lovely wife could shop and play, I got to meet Denise and Big Olds. Pretty good deal in my opinon.

I realized that later and was bummed out. IN fact, I was bummed that you and I really didn't have a long conversation at all. Next time we have to make it a point to spend more time together.

Closer then anyone, except FiveWindowJohnnie, realizes.;)

I also realized after reviewing my photos that I didn't get one of you and I together AND that one that you took of me and the s****book wasn't a photo but a short video clip.:( I did save the "love note" though so I guess that will have to tide me over till next year.:D

Very Nice Denise, as always great story and coverage. I wouldn't mind seeing something like this ( trip and story) covered on maybe the Speed Channel?? It sure be worth watching compared to some of the other boring stuff out there.

    Thursday Aug 13th

Eric, AKA Tinbender, and I made plans for me to pick him up in Big Olds so I headed over to his place. Pulled right in the driveway and parked next to "Large Marge".

Large Marge is alittle rough but makes no difference to Big Olds, he likes her just the same.

I immediantly spotted Eric shop door awning. I've been planning one for the side door to my house for a couple of years now. Mine's going to happen sooner then later now.

Eric has some GREAT yard art around on his property.

We went inside and I got the nickle tour. This is hanging on the wall in the pool room.

I don't know too many guys, none really, that have a gas pump in their bedroom. I LOVE it!

and bicycles on the second floor landing.....yep, can tell he's single.:D
    [IMG]

We then headed out to the shop and p***ed by this cool little fountain/pond
