    Cool mail box
    [IMG]

and a neat little Willys that he has
    [IMG]

We then stopped at NAPA so I could pick up some oil and a filter
    [IMG]

Then headed over to this wonderful little resturant at the airport for some breakfast.

We then headed over to the school that Eric teaches at and did a quick oil change on Big Olds and gave him the once over.

There were some neat projects for the students to work on
    [IMG]

From there we headed over to the GoodGuy event registration at the fairgrounds. Registered and also picked up the directions for the garage/shop tour. While there Eric introduced me to a gentleman and once he found out what I drove out he told me about a local friend of his that also has a 1947 Olds convertible. Small world. He actually then dials this guys number and hands the phone to me. We chat for abit. He's quite shocked that I've not onlye got one, but two and drove one from Michigan. We exchanged cell numbers and made plans to meet at the show the next day.

Eric and I then left for the first stop ont he garage tour.

This project was sitting out front
    [IMG]

Not sure how many closet Mustang lovers are on here and if so you guys probably already know about this place. They had a really nice set up with drinks and stuff for vistors. Very friendly folks as well.

and as you can imagine every model of Mustang there in every form of completion

Eric and I then decided to head over to the Hot Rod Cafe where there was a cruz night going on. Big Olds got a GREAT spot right out front.

Since we were both starved we went inside for a bite to eat. Really neat place inside

Ordered a strawberry lemonade and thought of my good pal BrokenSpoke who just can't seem to get enough of them......Ralfs56 too for that matter.:D
    [IMG]

The food was served with these cute little flags
    [IMG]

This neat mirror was over the sink in the ladies room
    [IMG]

All the tile in the ladies room went at funny angles. Would sure hate to try to pee drunk in this place

After we ate we headed outside and ran into Doug, AKA SirStude, from Helena, MT. I had met Doug int eh past when he came to Detroit to visit a couple of years ago.

Started walking around and looking at cars

    Friday Aug 14th

The next morning I got to Eric place and parked on the lawn as we had made plans to wash Big Olds before we headed out.

Eric INSISTED on being my white wall ***** this weekend.:D
Boy that dude knows how to scrub them white. They actually look better then the day they arrived from DiamondBack. I might have to keep him around.;) xoxox
    [IMG]

We got to the fairgrounds and before we could even enter Jim Sibley is running up introducing himself. What a pleasure to finally meet him. Wish we would have spent more time chatting and getting to know each other though. Next time for sure.

Eric and I decided to cruz the fairgrounds first and get a lay of the land before parking. This dude walks up to Big Olds and introduces himself. An old internet pal from the old RoadToad days way before the HAMB.

His ride and his very polite and well mannered children. His boy build his own bike.

Found a gr***y area near Mark, AKA Vert1940
    [IMG]

and his very cool mother in law who is local and her Model A
    [IMG]

Eric and I then took a walk

Low and behold we ran into the guy, Don Fries, who owns the 1947 Olds Convertible. The guy is really a hoot and had called me earlier this morning and the first thing he asked me was I still in bed sleeping.

He wanted to see Big Olds in the worst way so we walked back over to him
    [IMG]

and I gave him the grand tour of everything that was done.

We then made plans for Sunday morning for Eric and I to come by his place for a tour of his collection. The dude was so awesome. I know I made a friend for life
    [IMG]

While we were by Big Olds HAMB memeber stopped by and introduce himself.

Eric and I then took another walk. LOts more cars to check out

We then decide to head out. Eric wants to show me this old custom he found in someone's yard and get my opinion on it so we head over there in Big Olds.

Eric then noticed that I took a photo of a house we p***ed.

I mentioned that I liked craftsman style home.....he said I've got an area to show you. We headed back to his place and hopped in his Vette for a tour of the hills of Spokane.

I'm in Gunnison, CO right now and depending on where I stay tomorrow night I might be able to get caught up with the rest of the adventure story tomorrow evening. I'll also get a chance to edit and correct some stuff.

I'm glad you guys are enjoying this.

    Stay tuned.

As always great coverage of your many tours
    thanks for taking us along..

    I love that awning..how cool.
    I have a nice 53 chevy hood...think i just found a home for it...thanks for the idea.
sure beats having it stored for the past 11 years and not using it or finding a buyer.

  23. Great pictures Denise! Now you guys know why I didn't bother taking many.
I knew from the start that if I was going to hang around with Denise I'd better let Big Olds know right off just who is the "alpha male".....so I got down on my knees and scrubed his whitwalls, and cleaned his bumpers....I think he accepted me!:D.

BTW Denise, I'd give s**** booking a try! Anything for you;)

    Denise,

It was great having you as a guest, I hope Spokane was better then you immagined it would be. It's kind of a piss-pot town, but if you think about it, it (as well as the rest of the great NW) has some great stuff to offer! It's really beautiful up here. Lucy misses snuggling with you on the couch. Next time your up here hopefully I won't have to work as much and I can show you some really neat old junk!!

Take care and have a fun, safe rest of your trip!
