Man, those are cool, I'd like to see what would happen if Tommy Ivo got a hold of those!

  3. Tommy's always on his feet when I see him. He should come out. But, since he hasn't had a vehicle of interest, he may have to take a seat:D:p

  4. Ya know, I never looked....but can't you still buy those?

  5. Really. Maybe this bored to death busy body might save someones sorry ass from getting killed or maimed by having a drunken douche taken off the road. I believe it's called being a responsible adult.

BTW, it's spelled LAM, not LAMB. There is a significant difference.

Yeah, but, imagine how those would look with a couple of twin Nail Heads in front of them. Maybe we could call it a Lawn-ster.

My friend just bought 3 pairs of those old lawn chairs off e-bay. Of course they cost more now than when they were new.......

I'd be willing to bet that without the lot, fewer and fewer cars would show up every month. I really don't understand all of the "lot hate" going on here, it makes a great home base where you can get a closer look at everybody's cars, then take off and make a few laps up and down the street, lather, rinse, and repeat.

It's one thing to make rules to preemptively avoid problems and keep the riff-raff under control, but to start trying to change things up because you feel like people aren't enjoying it "the right way" seems kind of silly. As time goes on and other little pockets start developing, then the lot won't be so important, but right now I think the lot is the reason why it's working...

John...errr...I mean Carl, attached is the photo that you meant to use.

PS: I wasn't talking about drunk drivers. Just people that don't have enough going on in their lives so they call the police for anything and everything. They seem to be mostly made up of retired senior citizens.

Whatever happened to honor amongst thieves???

  13. My My, aren't we clever with photoshop. And I'm so honored that you have included me in you fantasy of having sex with other men. Thanks, but no thanks.
The only time I have ever called the cops on anyone is when my neighbor was shooting firearms into the air at a party they were having and when I witnessed some vandalism taking place. Again, I call it being a responsible citizen. You call it what you may. I WAS talking about drunk drivers. Do not interject your substandard interpretations into my posts. I would much prefer to be a responsible retired senior citizen than a do-nothing. BTW, I am not retired and, at 61, I don't feel like a senior citizen yet.
Honor amongst thieves??? I prefer better company. You may disagree.
I notice that you did change your sig line. Good, it had me worried.

You can still buy the rolls of webbing for them. Remember re-webbing chairs? Weaving in & out & never getting them tight enough.
I still have a pair in the storage unit somewhere.
Maybe I should dig them out, re-web them & park my ass in the Rydell lot. ;)
    Traditional car & chairs. :)

  15. re-webbing chairs, fantasies of having sex with other men, retired senior citizens, come on this thread is about CRUISING VAN NUYS BLVD!!!!!

  16. You're right. I'm done with the other remarks. Let's cruise

  17. I like the idea of the lot. But, it needs to be limited in it's use (fine tuning), or we need to be weened off it. I think "cold turkey" may be the beginning of the end

    I just pissed myself:p

Na, that's to easy. Here's a portable chair that may be just what the parking lot needs, it's "The Red Inferno" from CruiseCo. According to the instructions, after siting in it for a half an hour it burst into flames incinerating the occupant.

We may be able to get a sponsor for buying a shit load and then we can supply the chairs. Cool huh?

Speaking of folding or lawn chairs here's one that ought to get you started,
I just changed the spark plugs this morning. This model is called "Old Sparky.

    Mr. La Fong:

I bet you were the life of the party at the street races.

Just kidding. But in the case of these reawakened Van Nuys cruises, it would be my assumption that the more calls that are made to the police, the more it raises the negative visibility level of the cruisers themselves. IMO, something that should be avoided if at all possible.

As to the minor divisiveness between those that want to cruise and those who like to walk among the cars talking to people, I think that's a personal preference kind of thing. There are those who like to meet and reminisce with car buddies from decades ago. That's hard to do while driving down the street yelling from car to car.

And isn't this one of the central points of these cruises - to get reacquainted with old friends and make new ones who share the same interest in the car subculture?

Eh, without going into drunk driving rants and all that, if the guy was bombed and driving a Hummer thru the lot, the quarter panel you save just might be your own.

That is a pretty tight lot to navigate sober!!!

It's hard to imagine that a drunk driving anything would have made it through a car lot full of car guys with their cars without having his ass kicked, shot, or arrested. In no particular order, but, preferably all three.
