    Can anyone tell me who drove the Ed Pink FED during 1965, what brand chassie and is there a photo of it.

    It was driven by Connie Swingle. When Don Garlits went to live in Detroit for a brief time, Swingle went out west and landed in Ed Pink's car. After Garlits decided to go back to Florida, Swingle went back to join him. I'm not certain who drove for Pink after that point.

    Don Prieto says the Pink car was a Don Long Chassis and being restored at this time!. Ahhh, another one saved:).

    It was in March and April 1965 Hot Rod magazine as a build feature article called project 200mph.

    Thats right Guffey. I have that article somewhere in my files but could not find it and as said before Mike Snively (the second Snake) did drive it. It shows Don Long building this fueler on the concrete shop floor, no jig, no nothin' that we all don't have access to. Same article said it took top honors at Riverside HRM meet on its maiden outing. But that was about all it mentioned. I don't recall this car at subsequent events. Unless there was a name change, it sort of fell out. Somehow I doubt that, after all this car represented all the best stuff at the time. Funny, the previous post has one Ed Pink shot and two Ivo shots with it. It must be the smokin' wheelstand aspect...not the Pink connection...

    Hi rooman and thanks to all who replied, the reason I asked the question is that I have located an origonal poster from the 1966 Australian Drag Fest and this car was used on the poster and I needed to know who drove it. Now I have three possibilities and I will have to narrow them down to one. The next question is who is driving it in the shots that have been shown, I have not seen the poster but do remember it from '66 and think the first shot is the one on the poster.

    I was about to to make the same the same comment, but you beat me to it. The car in the 2 bottom frames was Ivo's gold/lime green 66 entry being shown on its famed 200' foot wheelie in the 2nd or 3rd round of eliminations at the Smokers meet. That car was in my estimation, his best looking car

    What? You didn't like Ivo's "Giraffe" fueler? Looks like this Air Pink shot was taken at the Winter Nats. Maybe another poster has the entry list for '65 or '66 showing who shoe'd for Pink.

    The pics were lifted straight from this thread and were titled as 'Ed Pink'
    by the original poster.
    Looking closely at them now, they are differnet dragsters.

    Here's another shot from this thread Titled, 'Ed Pink - Connie Swingle'
    I cant vouch for the accuracy of the info, but
    It is the Ed Pink Dragster.

    It actually started out at 150 inches with a bussiness body by Bob Sorrell then was stretched to 172 and Hanna added the front for the full body. It was still pearl pink and then a candy apple red candy stripe was added. I think it was about 1967 when Wheeler got it and turned it candy red. I am under the impression they are going back to day one with the restoration 150 inches with the bussiness body?

    I am not certain but would guess it is Snively at the wheel at that point of the cars appearance.
