Here's our little Bucket. Dad built in 1970-1971, showed it, sold it and we bought it back last year and got it going again. It was like it had been in a museum for 35 years, all original!

love those 60s buckets. real simple and clean. not over crudded with maltese crosses and unnecessary nick nacks.

I'm thinking spindle mounts on the front of that bucket will certainly give you a drag look of the 60's. Love the front wheels but they seem to be a bit wide for the car. The turtle deck might be cool too!

  11. I don't think you could ever beat this one, everytime I see a pic of this one it stops me dead in my tracks.

A turtle deck would look cool, but I think it looks great the way it sits. The new grille shell looks great. I wouldn't change a thing, but that's just me talkin'.

A friend of mine who lives close by owns this one. He hasn't posted pics so I'm beating him to it. Its a recently built car in the last year or so.

My photos of the Trojan T from Detroit back in March. I have an actual photograph or two I took a few years ago of it in the car corral at Auburn. I'll scan and post it when I get a chance. I knew it was the Trojan T as soon as I saw it because it looked just like the big 1/8 scale Lindberg model from the 60's.

A turtle deck might be OK, but before that, I'd put on a set of 15" 12 spokes, NOT the bolt on 10 spokes! ....and ditch the '32 shell in favor of a T shell, or maybe a 28-9 A shell*.

Funny this topic should pop back up today.... I've been looking at my parts piles in the yard thinking that other than a body it's about time to piece together another T bucket. I seem to do one every five years or so and always seem to sell it before I get to drive it. So I've had every Car Craft and Rod and Custom from 1961 -1965 spread out around the house for inspiration. Still after all these years my favorite is still Chuck Perry's car in the July 1964 Car Craft. I don't have a scanner so I can't post pictures of this, but maybe someone who does can. Brief description - short 92" wheelbase, 283w/ two 4 barrels, 20" bed, american five spokes all around with 5.60 Firestones on the front 8.20 piecrust slicks on the back, black paint w/red button tuft interior, early ford rear, dropped "A" axle up front. When I get to do another that is pretty much the formula I'll follow. A little o/t but similar, a customer car I'm building right now is kind of a loose copy of Marv Ginthers bantam from the same time period. Both can be seen in the June 1964 Rod & Custom on page 17.

Tim Young bought this Car in the Late 60's/Early 70's and it spent it's life in Kenosha, Wisconsin until Tim retired and moved to Arizona around 2002........The car went with him and he passed away out there so I assume the car is now in Sunny Arizona with a new owner......
