Congrats Sam! I think it's awesome! Skwurly-man has been gettin' onto me the whole day about gettin' the video compiled, so I reckon I'll do it now and post it on here for ya. I've never seen so much emotion outta him about anything before. He didn't even wait for Chloe to tell him bye before he was flyin' out the door to go meet with ya haha

What I dig is the fact....more than likely, a few buddies built that...maybe just one guy...who knows ....but probabally a couple bro's helped out....

Now that coupe is back....or will be....

Wait till its bombing around and some old guy comes up and starts telling you how he remembers that car doing donuts in a parking lot, racing late nite, or prowlin for broads....

The stories, the memories, the history.

That what makes a survivor hot rod so rad....

 

So is it a secret or can you make us all feel bad and tell us how much you had to pay.

 

What a great story. You heard about the car when you were a teenager, not been moved in 40 years. A Hamber told you where the car was. You bought it unseen except for the front. Must have been a great deal. Congrats on the purchase finally..

You know what I mean.... "Eye of the Tiger".

If this were a "historically significant" car, then yeah, keep it as a "survivor/whatever"....otherwise, cut/chop/etc. into what a fella really wants. Not every "old hotrod found" (sure seem to be alot of those lately) needs to stay in that condition.....some of the coolest cars have "evolved", but still stay true to tradition.

I'm beginning to wonder if the HAMB contingent is becoming "soft".

Incredible find, for sure! In looking at the picture of the previous owner, I found myself wondering if you got him on tape, talking about a little history of the car. If not, maybe you should...hate to say it, but guys like that aren't going to be around forever, and to get the story from the guy that was there cannot be duplicated. Once he's gone, the story is too. Just thinking it would be a neat "document" to have with the car...And by all means, take the guy for a ride in it when you get it on the road if at all possible-can you imagine how cool that will be? Man, what a awesome thing you found...good for you! Can't wait to see what you do with it!

I'm now going through what you must have gone through,that oh so long wait!
A few weeks ago,I got talking to a guy who lives nearby.I mentioned I was into traditional early Ford hot rods.He turns and says,"You'd better see this then" and took me over to an old trailer.Jumped inside and saw an original,dismantled 30/31 AA truck.All the parts are there and in great condition.It's been in his family since new.His son started to restore it but has lost interest.Just waiting to find out if he wants to sell.

Absolutely friggen' wow - the holy grail of hot rod finds. Congrats on your persistence, handling the prev. owner properly and planning to keep in touch with him. Here's another vote for making it "like it was" - how more traditional could it get than that?

Its a Ford, not a Duesenberg - there are plenty of them out there. If they are so rare, why do 20 year pop up here and an on ebay - and sell for less than a new Camry? haha.

Enjoy YOUR car, and do whatever YOU want with it.
