I finally got a car finished for myself. It has been eight years since I have been able to build one for me and Angie. What started out to be a primered daily driver took a change in course during the build. All of the guys in the shop did an outstanding job finishing the car. To have the car at Good Guys Pleasanton was big thrill, we got to meet and receive compliments from a lot of my hot rod heroes and for the car to get the Stroker McGurk award just topped off the weekend. Thanks to all involved with Good Guys for putting on such a great event.

Yea, I bet that was a job. I'm particularly interested in how you built the seat. How did you keep the material down in the curve, yet make it look tight.........Do you have any build pics.

Perfect car. You Johnson Hot Rod folks do nice work. I think I saw this one in the Rodder's Journal too.

  17. It looks really simple...until you start to look closer. So many little details can be seen in the photos, I can't imagine how many more are hidden from the camera's eye.

Very, very nice! Great looking Roadster.

Were you the guy racing the Caddilac XLR at Bonneville Speed Week this year?

Like everything that comes out of your shop, this one looks perfect too. How long do you think before some dude slaps a whack of cash down in front of you and takes it off your hands?

Beautiful car and photographically speaking, the second shot is to die for. Great angle and wonderful 'golden hour' lighting.

    I don't like it......at all.

This not 100% but it is close to what I was describing what my dream roadster
would like like if I was to build one. One of these days I'll have a roadster just
not willing to give up the Merc to get one. Love the rake of the winshield. Do
you have any pictures with the top on?

She turned out very kool. I would be very proud and hope that you enjoy the ride.

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

Pics don't do it justice. I saw it in Louisville, it is a real jaw dropper and the flatty sounds wicked as hell!

    Very Cool!

I knew that you had a little traditional hot rodding in your veins :)

After checking out the Deucenberg at the Nashville GG, I strolled by a well worn A model pickup with your name on the windshield.
