Love the old V8 insert around the air cleaner element! Great find. Congratulations on saving another one.
That is a priceless picture. Be sure to note his name and anything else you know about him so he will live on through the car in the Hotrod World.
WOW!! What a find!! Just curious; where are you in E. TN? Knoxville area? Nothing like that ever turns up over this way. Too much bling
I guess the church and all it's members will need to throw a picnic for you for helping them out, their prayers were finally answered! I'd keep the top stock and the fenders and bumpers too, but what do I know. There's a ton of chopped coupes and they all look the same.
I'm tickled for ya Bro! Ain't it a great feeling! Brookville has good stuff, but they'll sure rock your billfold. I'd love to have a steel door for, one of mine is fiberglass. At 3 grand a pop for a steel door from Brookville, I'll live with the glass door. I suppose the thinking is if you have a 32 3w, you got a lot of toadskins to spend. I felt more than lucky to find mine at an affordable price as this ol' country boy has a limited budget. Some might call your car rough, but I think it's a gem. As the PA Hamber said, nature wasn't kind to old cars in our area.
Great find, I think I`d go with the restored period hot rod look. See if the old man has some pics, and take him for a ride....the Lord says so.
Welcome to the 3W club. Nice find. If it is TOO much work for you I will gladly take it off your hands. Listen to THE MAN, RANDY and do not chop the top, he knows and I know. Have fun with your holy grail!!!!! Dickie Burke Virginia Beach
Awesome score! When you guys are saying 'keep it as is' are you suggesting that he leave the rusty doors alone and drive it with the running board hanging? ...I hope not! I'm assuming you mean keep it as is, but fix all the troubled areas.
That aint rough. Ask Jeffrey James what ROUGH is. He will show you his. And he is as happy as a pig in mud with it! Congrats on the 3W. Its a dream to have one for most people here and NOW YOU HAVE ONE
Of all the photos yet posted about this find ( and I LOVE 32 3W's ) ... to me this is the most significant photo I would frame that photo, hang it in my bedroom and remember that day ... forever. I do not know that you fully understand ... what has happened. When I was a young man ( like yourself ... now ) ... I most likely would not have understood either We do not really own any of these 3W coupes. We are just the current " CARE TAKERS " . That guy passed the " CARE TAKER " responsibility to you ... after 40 years of him being the care taker. Time and old age had dimished his ability to properly care for the 3W. He entrusted you do do the job now. How you handle that responsibility is up to you. BUT ... If I were the current care taker that 32 3W ... I would use these coupes as examples of how a 1932 3W coupe should look. I would work real hard to have that coupe returned to look like a 50's 3W. If you cannot do the car justice ... there are people here on the HAMB that have the talent and resources to do it right.
Glad this thread came back to page 1 (thanks 3wLarry) ... I meant to comment on it yesterday afternoon ... but got side-tracked with actual work. thequietwon ... Congrats! ... I know it's a bit cliché, but your (& HIDDEN's) Deuce 3wd find just goes to show that they are still out there! ... and that persistence & treating others with respect actually pays off. skwurl ... How's that "extraction video" coming?
Very KOOL & Congrats... I stumbled apon something very similar lastnight and havent been able to sleep since..I was shakin standing next to the car & all it did was just reassured me there still out there..Nice find!
WOW! So the old guy just PASSED it on? So generous..... I'm betting he sold it to the kid 'cos he liked him more than every other wanker trying to bust his nuts for it. Hopefully the new owner takes better care of it than the last....ironically if it wasn't for the local church cracking the sh!ts about the car, the old guy wouldn't have his new retirement fund, nor would it have found a new "care taker".
