Folks Of Interest Where are the Original first 500 HAMBers?

This is the best thread yet. It has brought out the charter lurkers who joined early but very seldom post. I would like to hear from you more often. Apparently March 2001 was the first opportunity to join. I missed it by about 8 years. What # am I?

I'm #127. Like many others I joined in '99 through Aaron & HRD linkage.

I still think I lost my last bit of innocence with all the jaffa and merkin talk! I remember when Skratch was striping at the Big Boy for $20 to get to Japan. Remember how stoked we were when Brewsir got on "Junkyard Wars?"

Frank, the board was here in an earlier version before 01, however with an update or crash everybody had to re register. that upset the order a bit if I remember right.

Oh, yeah,480 and still going strong. I wonder how many off the "first 500 HAMBERS" have dropped off due to death, taxes, prison, etc. More than half, do you think???

 

Remember the first HAMB chop? The guy towed his car all they way down from Washington state to So Cal or the So Cal desert. I couldn't believe he towed it over the mountain pass from San Jose to Santa Cruz. I'm pretty sure the 4 door Olds being towed was bigger than the tow vehicle.

Looks like I am 398. I'm still not clear about the "2001" server crash. If it didn't crash, we would have different numbers?

Got the HRD sticker AND jacket patch; the first HAMB t-shirt (wore it to the Roundup this year). And the free issue of Garage #1 that was sent out to the first couple of HAMBers that responded to the offer. Good times!

 

Geez! Look how long it took to even get to 500! From March to December 2001. Hell, looks like that number happens in a couple weeks now.
