Event Coverage Galaxies INVADE Kansas City Goodguys 2009! -- Are YOU going??

I haven't seen a thread about the Kansas City Goodguys event, so I figured I'd start one. I see some will be attending the Greaserama...

It's coming up quick - this weekend, already! Sept. 4,5,6 at Kansas Speedway
It's been a few years since I've been to this event, and I'm looking forward to driving a couple laps around the track - should be fun!


There will be four Galaxies from Omaha down there together - kinda scary, huh? (two '63-1/2s, my '62 and a '64 Wagon) We'll be there Saturday for sure, so if you see us, be sure to say 'Hi'!












Also, if you see this guy, please give him a beer. He's usually very thirsty.

I'm gonna go rinse my eyes with muriatic acid now, thanks a bunch. Still a ? if I'll be at any of the shows this weekend.

I'll be checking out the Goodguys and shooting pics Friday and Saturday, but me and my 63 Sportsroof will be at the Greaserama Sunday.

The funny thing is Jason doesn't care that those photos are all over the internet.

The speedway is west of KC and that is a Nascar track. KCIR (Kansas City International Raceway) is the dragstrip east of KC.

is a "Galaxy" some rare Cadillac model?

 

It is...only one was produced, a prototype and I have it...but the suits at Cadillac didn't like the word "galaxy'...from what I hear, they felt the word had been overused by astronomy scientists way too much...and the other word they were planning on using: "universe" gave them bad feelings as to fit and finish on the supposed top of the line Cadillacs...so they decided on not using either...and so the Ford suits asked Cadillac if they could use the word and the suits at Cadillac decided they could have it for one of their models...without paying anyone for it...because it's a 'plain' word that's used many times a day.

That's the story I heard and I'm sticking to it...altho I have removed all the 'galaxy' emblems from my Cadillac, I have added a "cooler" name...
