Hey Guys, just a quick note about the show on Sunday. The Drive-Invasion and Dixie Fried will be held in the LOWER lot this year, unlike the last two years. We will do our best to accommodate everyone with parking. As always, if you want to ensure you park next to your buddies, arrive together. The physical parking spaces are bigger, but there is less room for pop up tents and such, so pack accordingly.

The admission price is an odd number, $28.00, so actually $23.00 with the coupon http://www.theroadkings.com/. You'd probably be doing yourself a favor by having some ones on ya when you pull up to the gate... you know, I'm just say'n

 

Yeah - Even if you have the right change he has to go back to the ticket window with the money and get your ticket. It's retarded.

Why not have tickets and money for change on the guy??? Maybe have three guys with change and tickets working the line. You know - Keep the traffic from backing up out on to moreland avenue? I am just saying! It's been hard to get in every year. Whatever.

 

I would imagine it is to keep the people taking the money and passing out the wrist bands from skimming or letting friends in with out paying. But I'm sure they could do better than the two people taking money, and one person in the booth. Maybe with the dedicated line for the car show and earlier admission, it might be better. Hell I didn't make there last year until almost 1:00 pm, that truly sucked...

One question guys--this would be my first year. I'm handicapped and use a scooter to get around. Would this be a problem getting around? This is near where my daughter lives and works and I'd love to try to come.

 

Hey twotoejoe I would think a scooter could get around in the lower lot ok. Its all black top, its not all flat however. Its a drive in so there are flat rows where you park to see the movie and then it rolls down about 4 ft to the next row. Its not real steep. I think you would enjoy it.

 

Anyone from the Mobile/Pcola area going to the show? I'm gonna have to go stag,my buds couldn't make it,broke ass mofo's. I'll be driving my hamb unfriendly RV,at least I'll be there though.

 

Hey, good morning. I went to the Drive Invasion last year with my wife and I didn't have any problems in my electrified wheelchair! The parking lot there is rather lumpy and you'll be dodging beer cans, lots of 'em!

That looks like it will be great! Hey, my car is non-Hamb friendly. It's a mid 60's (1965) Rambler sedan. I can understand scuttling off to the "We're not worthy!" section - but do you let over-heating, steaming cars sneak in a little quicker? I replaced the water pump, hoses and sending unit - but still leak coolant, so the car could be kindy steamy if I make it that far

Think I better map out a non-75 route, I haven't been on a highway in this car yet, either.
