thanks, any of the other??? how many did you buy, the whole barnes and noble store? lol what weird is that mine tore right at the beginning of your article.
Mine started tearing apart as soon as I started to read it also. And I also miss the data page. And it seems like the issues are getting skinnier lately. yeah, I know . . . Bitch bitch bitch.
Good point. It would be like saying NASCAR is a stupid waste of time while sitting in the stands of the Daytona 500 with a Dale Jr. T-shirt and Jeff Gordon baseball hat on.
Just got it actually its amazing I could have to say if your into anything that has anything to do with cars you should buy it its worth the money.
I miss the tech sheets as well. As far as the "RR" chevy goes, at first I kinda thumbed past it, but the more I looked at it , the more I liked it. Looks well built and the owner seems to like it and thats all that really matters. I dont mind seeing something a little different.
I too would like to see a return of the data page. I just checked myTRJ and so far it is not coming apart.
Congrats to Ryan on the article. It's a shame they got the title wrong though. I read the entire thing wondering why it might be "The Last '36" only to find reference to a follow up part II that's going to be called "The LOST '36". That's gotta be frustrating for Ryan. But it didn't take away from the work. Oh well.
Haahahhaa Well, actually, I do miss the data page too. Big attaboy to Chris (Hip2bSqr) and everyone at Dean's (yeah, including Dean), for the Mumford story. Beautiful car! Great paint work Farmboy!!
I like the Mumford 33, I wish that Ihad the dough to do mine up as nice. Great writing Ryan, Wait a minute, Who's Nice Tardel Styled A-bone is that in the background?? . Loved the THROTTLE info, Thom - you did a fine job.
Damifino, Don't worry about the criticism on this thing....more than half of the guys on here do NOT know their asses from a hole in the ground....it is amazing what they learn and become EXPERTS on the web!!!! They become REAL smart by FOLLOWING others...what a shame. I stay on here to learn as much as I can from guys (younger and older!!!) who GET it. The good news is that the REAL guys and girls on here truly understand... Sure, I will get a ton of shit from some morons here, but they can kiss my ass. I love what you have done with the '34...I read the Rodders Journal article and WOW!!!! I met Clint through racing a few years ago...he is TRUE hot rodder!!!!! Congrats...ENJOY! You deserve it! Ebert
Yep, mine came away at the binding and I'm very gentle with my copies - I'm a publisher, so I reckon I know how to keep them as mint as possible. That said, fuck I love TRJ. Oh, and bring the data page back.
I thought it was just me that was missing it. Bring back the tech sheet on the feature cars. Please. I use TRJ like an encyclopedia of sorts, and the tech sheet makes it easy. I love the tech sheet!
What's wrong with Mumford's cars? He has some fantastic Brizio-built hot rods and his contributions to this hobby are great, including the restoration of the Sam Barris Merc and Ala Kart. He is a very nice and humble guy as well. I would also like to see the data sheet return. Great issue btw, and Dan Webb's sub is insane. One question though, why are the pictures of the '36 Ford blurred out...that was very annoying...and it seems like the owner of this site is hiding his identity or something. You can write the article, but not show your face? Any reason for that? I just didn't quite understand the point of that...
STILL don't have mine. Pretty sure I renewed for 2 years last fall... oh well. I would like the data page too. Might as well vote since the HAMB is acknowledged by TRJ.
I also miss the data page. Its nice to be able to look up the wheel and tire info or other small details that aren't either in the article or visible in the pictures. As for the historical features, I don't mind them occasionally. I originally started subscribing because of the excellent coverage of beautifully built rods and customs. I actually prefer the high buck traditional builds because if I wanted to see poorly engineered crusty shit, I could just drive down to one of the local cruise ins. Its nice to see stuff that is nicer than anything I will ever build. Dave
Historic rods & kustoms... I love those cars and cant see too much of that kind. No matter if it is os previously unpublished photos or a restored car with early history. I havent got my issue yet so I cant comment much else... I've seen Janne Kutjas pages in a "pre print" and I love that, also love the 36... I hope there is no poorly built rat rod ever in TRJ, ever. Miss the data page as well.
My copy arrived in a perfect cardboard package as always but was missing the first 16 pages and the binding fell apart as I turned the pages. Called and spoke to Chastity and she was putting a replacement in the mail for me. Hasn't arrived yet but should be in today's mail. By the way,I miss the data page also.
The binding on mine is coming apart as well. It's a shame because it is my favorite issue in a while! Great Job Ryan. Maybe I will give them a call next week about a replacement
Got it today, a wonderful issue for a kustom guy like me! (and the mentioned car was very far from a poorly built rat rod...)
TRJ will always replace damaged copies,...just call and they will send one out to ya. Big respect to the best mag. Thank you Steve and Geoff for all the hard work,... i appreciate it.
