The Fillmore is a very small venue for a concert. It's located on Woodward in Downtown Detroit near the new Tiger Stadium in the heart of the revitalized area. They were originally scheduled to play at a huge venue in the suburbs with Areosmith but that concert was cancelled after Steve Tyler got hurt. ZZ Top didn't want to disappoint their fans here in Detroit so they annouced their concert at his small venue just 8 days before the date.

The main floor of the Fillmore, near the stage, is like a dance floor, all hardwood flooring, then there's a step up, some standing room and some tall tables and chairs, then another riser with more standing room and tables and chairs. The place is set up like a bar really. The coolest venue for a concert I've ever attended.

We had a table with seats till after the warmup band then headed to the main floor to get up close and personal with my boys from Texas. Boy o boy do I LOVE these guys.

I tried a ton of different settings on my camera just to expertiment. The lights from the stage thru off some of my cameras exposure I think.

Great pics from sniffer's row! I'm suprised they had their fancy stage setup for such a small venue. That's the neat thing about the smaller shows though- there's not a bad seat in the house.
On a musical side note, I got to see the Rumblejetts again at the KC Speedway Goodguys show today.

Man, am I jealous!! ZZ Top is my favorite. ANd Biily G. Is one of the best guitarists of all time. Hell, when Jimi Hendrix likes ya, you know you're good.
BTW...dig the new avatar pic. Kinda artsy in a TRJ kinda way.
