    Hello,
Signed up yesterday so I guess it’s about time I introduced myself. Been a fan of hot rods and customs since high school ever since I fell in love with the neighbors rough around the edges 55 Chevy. Started reading what I could find about cars, especially 40s and 50s stuff. When I was 14 my dad and I got a 48 Roadmaster for cheap and that’s what I learned to wrench on. It was cheap for a reason though (rust bucket) and we definitely got in over our heads on that so we found a 52 Olds that was already a driver. I drove that to school my senior year but dad wound up putting more and more of his money into it and decided to sell it. Loved that 303 Rocket though! After high school I got into Mopar Muscle cars (still am) and acquired a 67 Barracuda and a project 71 Charger. I couldn't stay away from those postwar GM's though and I've recently bought a 50 Chevy Fleetline to build. The car is fairly complete save for an engine and trans. I'm still debating whether to go with a SBC or a hopped up 6. Leaning towards a 6 right now although I already have 305 and T-5 that I got for a song. The plan is a low budget build so its hard to argue with something I already have. I really think my hearts with a 6 though just because it seems right, is a bit different, and a hot rodded 6 just looks so damn cool!

First of all welcome to the hamb from aurora colorado. And I agree the six either a 250 or an earlier 292 would be my choice also over the 305. But if you are on a budget go for what you got and geter done . Your chevy looks cool and am sure you will have fun with the build...Ghost

Yeah, I was thinking something along the lines of a 250 or 292, been searching the board here for all the info I can find on them. I'll probably keep my eyes open to see if one shows up near me, its not like I need to make up my mind by tomorrow on whats going in it.

Welcome from Nebraska. I was big into Mopar Muscle years ago and then started building hot rods and never went back to the muscle cars. Your Chevy looks like a cool project, I just picked up a 52 Chevy to start on. Good luck.

I must have my blinders on. I didn't even realise the swap meet was coming up. I should know to be checking for it this time of year.
