Flying J at 9 am, sounds good. My Ranchero wont' be comming but my 5 year old Dodge Ram is so beaten up, it looks like it is fifty years old.

 

If I can get the 56 M100 out of the pile in the garage (29 is in Kelowna still) I will make it up there!

 

I touched base with Scott a few minutes ago.

We are go! 12 noon this upcoming saturday! Look forward to seeing everyone there, and I would like to remind any out-of-towners who may wish to come up Friday that there will be a drive-in @ the Diner.

 

I had a booth at the Calgary Diablo's CC show, and yes it was a small gathering. previous years have been better. But the Calgary Diablo's are a primer car club as far as i know, thought they're cars don't stay that way. Plus thats just one of what 10 pre 65 car clubs in Calgary, and not all of them get along. Politics can be a pain in the****. Then theres the fact that you live in Alberta, a muscle driven group of red necks. Hell, have you been to the lethbridge swap meet in fedruary. you can build a complete any 67-71 chevy muscle just form all the parts there. and little not get in to the fact that theres only 2 1/2 months of cheater slick weather in this province.. os not every car makes it out every year..

what it comed done to, if you want to see more cars out on the street. then drag yours out and organize the cruises and meets..

Just want to clarify.... as a member of the Diablos I can inform you that we are not a "primer only club" while some members vehicles are only in primer most are painted shiny or with flattener. Our club is based on the idea of pre 64 traditionally "styled" hot rods, Kustoms and haulers (NO STREET RODS). Our show is for traditionally styled cars/trucks/bikes but some of the clubs that support us have a few members that have more of a mild street rod so we allow them and we appreciate their support.

I respect what Lee and Matt are trying to do and hope it works, I support the idea of a truly Traditional Hot Rod Show and if I ever collect enough parts I will be stoked to build a period correct rod and drive it to their show! With that said I am damn proud of what I have built and they are "STYLED" after traditional ideas and looks but my 56 M100 is bagged, clipped and I run radials and my 29 Roadster is on Bias Plys but runs modern brakes, aluminum brackets/pulleys and blown SBC (mostly for cost savings and reliability). and I would hope they would let me park it along with Del's Roadster and Scotty's Model A p/u.

Well lets hope my 4 Banger makes it to red deer. This will be the furthest highway run with it so far. It did make it to Evansburg and back with no problems, so I'm pretty confident, and will be bringing a big tool box...
