It sure looked wrong to me!If you have a hole I think you have to carefully form a patch panel and stitch weld it to avoid warping the steel. Then you finish the weld, grind it smooth and then put on a thin skim coat if necessary. If I am wrong please correct me!

You are wrong. A piece of screen and dental floss, then mud it up. That's the only way.

  10. My dog leaves better work in tightly coiled piles on the lawn, to borrow a phrase from Family Guy.

  11. That's funny.

The best part is the dental floss.

  12. My Chevy was the same way. It had a new surprise on each quarter panel and fender. They were all fixed like crap a different way!

I was factory rep. for paint co. for 30 years and run two states. Sad to say I think most of the used car guys learned from his tapes. Like one of the guys said I have saw far worse than he did only they were smart enough to only use night auctons.
Wouldn't even try to run one in day light.

Reminds me of a guy I saw who was doing some bodywork on a mid-80s Chevy pickup. The rear wheel wells were rusted out so he used an empty bleach bottle on each side glassed it to the inside and bondo'd over the outside because the shape matched up perfectly.

Those videos were like an accident on the highway that you know you should pass, but instead you look on like everyone else and bring traffic to a crawl...

  23. No-one's mentioned using stale bread! It's great gap-filler, sands well, and bog sticks to it like shit to a blanket! And if your real hungry you can reach up inside your fender, break some off and dip it in your soup! That guy must do the pre-export work on some of the cars that end up down here!(especially Mustangs)

I'm impressed that he kept a straight face throughout all 3 videos- especially when taping his protective headgear on!

In response to the dozen or so posts that insult the personality, physical appearance of the man in the videos. Is this a contest to how rude one can be to another human being? To disagree with a particular repair technique is what we all do when we prefer a different technique. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to cite the physical properties that make our preferred repair superior, compared to what we consider the inferior methods(if you know)and the differences thereof?

To lower one's self to insult the facial structure/haircut/mannerisms of the instructor in a commercial video is akin to a group of juvinile apes jacking-off to display their virility. Go home boys, your momies' calling. Come back when you have developed social graces that are above that of ten year olds that experiment their social graces by parrotting the bully.
