  1. OH NO! Dude! I think someone snuck a crapstang and a modern EFI motor in your Hot Rod garage!!

Just kidding, cool garage man! And I like the late 60s fast back stangs. Im gonna cop so much shit for that I think.

Giant fiberglass advertising figures. Have been looking for a Muffler Man the past couple years. Not sure how our neighbors will like a 20' tall statue but we'll figure that out later.

I collect a bunch of different things, but I'll start with one. I seem to have developed a bit of a Tiki problem!

I love the vintage and Jimmy C mug, but no Tiki Diablo's? ;)

  5. Vintage Roadside's advertising figures are pretty neat, but I think if they were in my yard they'd kind of give me the creeps.

Pre-World War II magazine auto ads (I have close to 2000 pieces)
Pre-1965 gas & oil, auto & parts signs & thermometers
Custom car & rod magazines (especially Pre 1970)
World War I posters (Victory Bond Drive, recruiting, etc.)

My wife will be relieved to know that I am not the only sick Obsessive Compulsive bastard out there with a collecting fetish! I've dropped a substantial amount of money on this stuff over the years, but I wouldn't sell any of it unless I was really desperate for cash. The real fun is the search and occasionally finding a rare piece when I least expect it.

This stuff, especially with the way the economy's been recently is worth almost exactly as much as you can get someone to pay for it.

That being said, I'm well.... I'm waaaaaaay into this 'star wars crap' I'm missing a few things I wouldn't mind having. Let me know what ya got, and how much your 'book' or whatever says it's worth, or what you want for it. I might be interested? IF I don't have it already.

    On topic..

no... I've never been 'lucky' enough to fall into a collection of anything much less one that turned out to be worth any real money. Hell, i've never managed to fall into anything except cement at the bottom of a set of icy stairs. Man, that would be the day wouldn't it?

Unless you count a pez despenser my grandfather bought for me at a garage sale for 10 cents when I was maybe 4 or 5 years old. full bodied blue robot looking guy, not just a stick with a head on it, dated back to 1944 or so. I sold that thing for 300 bucks to buy part of the first set of tools to start me on my current profession. Seems to have worked out well for me, and i'd pay 2k for the sentimental value attached to it if I could have that same exact pez dispenser back.

I do collect stuff though, mostly 'star wars junk' old bar signs, just about anything that says cadillac on it, more 'star wars junk', silly vintage things... bottle openers, bar signs, neons, anything that looks neat and catches my eye. More 'star wars junk' ya know... just stuff

  16. I just did a side job at a guys house who collected bottle caps! He had 100's of them! He said,"I know they aren't worth anything, but I couldn't stop!". hahaha! He has them all in little baggies like coins. They are all the old type, ribbed, that you needed a bottle opener to remove. Soda-pop,beer,etc...

  17. I had all the Texaco trucks, cause my dad had a friend who owned a Texaco gas station. Even had the Presidents statues! Remember those?

I collect old gas station memorabilia, especially a brand called "Hi-Speed", it was sold only in Ohio and Michigan up until 1952.
