Just got confirmation that Stormy Bird's Roadster and Rick Ackerman's Coupe will run at the Hot Rod Gathering! Tire smokin', high gear, side by side p***es, anybody who knows Stormy KNOWS this will be a show.

Here is a quote from Ellen (Stormy's Back Up Girl) on another site!
"We are really looking forward to coming up there and trying to destroy a set of M&H's with an 1/8 smoker bonsai run. Et's and miles per hour don't count he who makes the most smoke wins. See ya

I wish I took more notice of the date... It is the weekend before the CHRR, and my plans are already set. Maybe next year, I will have to make it a two week trip to California. For those of you who have never witnessed the Stormy Bird, and the Strange Brew coupe show you are in for a real treat. Awesome SMOKE show!!!

Yeah, my Pop-in-Law is an original member and on our HAMBster crew. Maybe we can talk the Reedley guys into building a car too. They're an active group of guys.

I posted these in the Drag Cars in Motion thread but thought I'd throw them on here for Rocky.

My Pops-in-Law took them sometime in the early 60's but can't remember where. Any ideas? They are most likely in Central Cal, not too far from Eagle Field. He was mostly a Hardtop fan back then and probably wouldn't have travelled too far for drags. But that was then, this is now.

Went out today and put the old airfield to a test! My car has ran as fast as 11.40 and I feel the surface will hold up. The first photo is a 1st gear launch with the second photo being a 2nd gear burnout. THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN!!!!!!
