Saw this at a swap meet yesterday. Wierd looking and lo-and-behold, the seller actually was the maker. I asked about it and he produced a picture of a complete engine with it - pretty wild. After a little discussion, it turns out I had seen and heard the car run about 10 years ago and since then it's done only 400Km! I recall it was a strong sounding engine. Personally I don't care for the look of the manifold, it's bit too modern and Lego block looking. Yes, it's 2 piece.

  2. How much was he asking for it?? Looks pretty crazy!!! I dont mind the look of it.....maybe its a different feel in the flesh.

After all that, I didn't ask how much! Der!

I suppose if you knocked off all the 90 degree edges etc it wouldn't be so bad.

Looking at how the zip tie is going underneath the carb. plate, it looks like it is seperated at the top and then becomes an open plenum from there.

    Pretty neat looking intake.

  5. That was on the Metallic Blue '32 roadster? I remember that from Brisbane Hot Rod Show in '98 was on the cover ASR same year.

Don't let Bill Smith see that or a Chinese clone will be in the next Speeedway catalog along with 4 of his 9super7 ripoff 97 carbs.

Kooky indeed, but still neat to see someone making their own part.

I wonder how it compares to the Jim Lattin 4x2 staggered intake, it had IRs..

Bingo! Allan Porter and he still owns it - obviously never drives it!

BTW I've had enough of manifold (or adaptor) patent discussion on this board thanks.

That's cool as hell Tony... but I can't imagine a flathead moving enough air/fuel to use four carbs, LMAO.

Any plans for coming out this way again?

Well, if ya really want one, I could source one for you. No idea of price. How serious are you?

And Eric, there are always plans, but life has a way of putting bumps in the road. My answer is a.s.a.p. Then there's the question of spend money to get a car project done, or go on a trip?

I can't tell if it's a independent runner or not, if it is, one half of a stromberg 97, (75 CFMs) per one cylinder. I believe and healthy Flathead could handle that with no problems..
