A Henry J. I don't know which year it was, but it was stock. Dad wasn't a car guy and didn't even like riding in cars. I'm glad I didn't inherit that gene.

  2. I can't be certain, but it was probably a 35 Ford one ton flatdeck. It was during the war and none of the pictures from that time show any other vehicle in the yard.
I brought my first daughter home, 1970, in a beautiful silver and black Olds Toranado. She had to spend her first few nights in a Westinghouse Electric Frypan box because we were in a trailer in Florida while I was on a fighter pilot conversion course at Tyndal AFB.
It is quite funny when you think that 10 years later, 1982, I brought the next 2 kids home in a POS crapped out Landrover 88. During the whole time I had the 55 Cameo you see in the avitar. ( Still own the truck 41 years and counting )

Certainly not a hot rod... but I called my mom to ask her and she was pretty funny. She says she remembers because, "all the drugs wore off by the time they let her leave." In her words, "We came home in a 1973 powder blue Dodge Power Wagon 4x4 with a long bed... with balloon tires, whatever those are?" :D She says, as well, that she was... "wearing a size 44 blue bathrobe to look skinny." Hahaha... that's my mom. :D

A 1964 R Code 427 Galaxie. All black. Killer car. Believe it or not I found it a couple of years ago in our area. It was for sale on ebay of all places. After showing the pictures to my Dad he said "Yup, that's my old car".

Talked o the owner several times about buying it but a deal was never struck. Pretty cool that I finally found it though, maybe someday I will own it!

My moms 57 Buick Special, dad happened to be doing the brakes, has one side off, when my mom went into labor, dad threw the drums back on and wheels, loaded mom & me and took off for the hospital, slowing down at redlights gearing down the dynaflow, making sure no one was coming, then blow the light, well a local cop ft. lauderdale fla, see's him blast thru a redlight and pulled him over, dad had to gear the dynaflow down and use the emergency brake to stop, cop realized what was going on, and escorted us to the hospital, not knowing dad didn't have brakes. My fate of being a gearhead was sealed before even being born!LOL! Mom wasn't so happy about pops having the brakes torn apart though!LOL!
