I am glad to have been able to meet both Jim and Seth at the HAMB drags last month. I pray for comfort for the family and friends in this time.

Sorry I never had the opportunity to meet him. If the posts here are any indication he will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family and many friends. RIP

Thank everyone for their kind words. It would mean a lot to Pops! I have known him since I was 3. He was one of the most genuine guys you would ever meet. The only thing I can say right now...at least we all have another hand over us from up above as we travel down the highways and byways. He will be in our hearts as well...

    love,
    Monkey

Man, I just still can't believe it... :(

It was great to see Jim and his family and friends at the Drags. He really seemed to be enjoying himself and I can imagine that weekend was about the best medicine he could get.
In the short time that I knew Jim, it didn't take long to figure out that he was a great man.

He was very lucky to be surrounded by a great group of people - his family and friends...
My thoughts are with all of you.

    May he Rest In Peace.

Did not know Jim well, but he always acknowledged me with a smile and a hand shake. Condolences to the family. Rest in peace. I know God is watching over you now.

It also merits mention that Jim and Dody have two children, Seth (Whitey) and Emily (Meeps).

We all know Seth because he is active on the board and at shows.

Emily is Pops 22 year old daughter and she is also into cars. She has a Model A Coupe that was to be built by her and Pops this winter.

The car will still be built, only the cast has changed.

Please keep her in your prayers and thoughts also.

My thoughts and prayers go out to my Tulsa brothers. Only got to hang with Pops a few times but he always made you feel like you had been friends forever. He will be missed but his cool vibe will always be there whenever hot rodders gather.

I got the chance to meet Emily at the HAMB Drags this year. What a sweet, sweet girl. Very devoted to her Dad as I saw she didn't leave his side in the hotel parking lot or I should say the back of the golf cart as they rode around socializing. Glad to hear you boys will be watching out for her. She's still so young, she's going to need your support thru the years.

  21. This is sad news indeed. I am grateful to have seen him one last time at the Drags. Very sorry for his family and friends.

My heart is so heavy right now. We've known Jim and Dody for almost 20 years. All of the Tulsa folks, even if everyone is in different clubs and whatnot, we are all, in general, such a close group. So, losing one of your car buddies is like losing part of your family. It is such a big loss. Now, for me, is the time to focus on Dody and the kids. They will really need our support in the coming months to help them work through their pain and sadness. Jim will be missed greatly and it just isn't fair...

Dody, Seth and Emily, we are here for you.

    Our condolences,
    Kym & Jim Fissel

Excuse the lack of green the other day.... Black = cell phone posting....

    UPDATE:

The service will be held in the place mentioned above, in the "One Eighty" Auditorium.

The parking lot will be secure, we ask everyone attending to please drive their rods, but PLEASE do not stay home just because you would rather not drive. If you live a ways away and can attend, we can find housing for you. Still room at Rancho de Rash.

We need bright smiley faces. This will be a Celebration service, we will try hard to keep it from being stuffy and somber.

The auditorium is incredible and has 1300 seats.

    Let's pack it!
