hay all you guys from fresno if we drive to fast well blow right past Dos Palos. didnt ther use to be a drag strip south of Dos Palos called rasin city. hey i will be there not to crazy abought a 1/2 draig race but i will give it a try

 

I've been out at Eagle Field the last couple mornings shooting some touch and go's in the champ.

The place has been cleaned up alot! Good work.

Yes there was a strip in Fresno/Rasin City , Fresno Dragway. They ran 4 Top Fuel cars side by side on the same strip at once, in the 60's. I've got some old trophies from there.
Were looking forward to comming up to Eagle Field & I'm bringing 2 sets of tires !
So the gauntlet has been laid down. How bout a 800' smoker or a 660' track ?

I'm bringing some of my Dad's stuff from when he was in the Air Force,Vandenberg & North American Aviation for 36 years, Photos-memorabilia-etc. to donate to the Museum at Eagle Feild, as a way of saying thanks for letting us do our thing there.

...I KNOW what your using as announcing tower.....my lil bro gave it away last night....LOL.....BTW Toymaker...thanks for inviting us to be a part of this great event.Like I told you...I'm the racer and my brother is the WWII buff...so an event where we both can get our fix is awesome. Plus knowing how much effort my brother has invested in the lil patch of South Dos Palos I'm sure this will be a hallmark event for years to come.
I'll be bringin out my blown 48 Fiat altered as well.....probably wont be making p***es as I'll be a little on the busy side that day....

 

I just got back from eagle field to see where it is and how far....60 miles due west from Clovis.

 

Maybe someone will step up and BUY the Fiat ONLY 23 more days to go, what a whirlwind ride, seems like only yesterday I was driving out to Eagle Field for the first time. I checked my 1st post on this thread.........WE PUT THIS TOGETHER IN 6 MONTHS!

Skip, were the directions good enough. Those of you in Fresno, take 99 to Ave 7 and go west to Ave 7 1/2 (ave 7 dead ends into 7 1/2) and make a left hand turn. Take 7 1/2 into Firebaugh to HWY 33 (1st light after 2 stop signs), make a right on 33 and immediately get in the LH lane and make a LH turn on 12th ST (stop light). Take 12th west which turns into NEES ave to Russell ave (1st stop sign you come to), make a right hand turn on Russell and go about 1-2 miles to Althea (Delta Mendota c**** runs alongside Althea), make a Left Hand turn and you can't miss Eagle Field on your Right hand side.

OK everyone (in the Fresno area), I'm planning a volunteer meeting Friday Sept. 25th, 7PM, Brooks Ranch at 99 and Chestnut (Chestnut exit if north bound, Central exit if south bound), in Fresno. If you plan on attending PLEASE contact me so I can let the restuarant know how many are attending.
I'm planning a volunteer mtg at Eagle Field the saturday before the event for those who live in the Los Banos area. Rocky

Toymaker...The Shirt Shak is glad to be tied to this event just like we're proud to be the offical printers of the ANRA.And printing on site will be doin it the old school way.This event has a real family appeal to me like I've mentioned and the whole family is gettin pumped.I think IIhave the old man talked into bringin out the HAIRY CANRY to do some p***es .It might be the last event the car EVER attends.We've been contacted by an organization that has interest in it for their possible museum.With 334 rounds won that little yellow 64 Valiant won more rounds in the early years of nostalgia than any other car.

I am CRAZY EXCITED about the Eagle Field Hot Rod Gathering, I mean it looks like we are going to pull it off with the good lord taking care of any weather issues! The buzz here in the valley is "I hope they (Eagle Field) are prepared for the attendance". We are doing everything possible to prepare with parking marked out, food ordered, security in place, ambulance, sanitation, garbage, barriers, announcers in place, volunteers, tech staff and the list goes on for ever.................AND I LOVE IT!
I was posting on another one of the threads today and relized there HAS NOT been a legal DRAG RACE in the central valley for over 30 years, 30 YEARS! With the help of a lot of people we are making a come back for our sport, and I hope you are going to be a part of it. Maybe to help the Eagle Field group to be better prepared for the Hot Rod Gathering we can have a roll call...........YA a ROLL Call! Post here if you plan on making it or know of a group planning on making the trip, that would help a BUNCH.
"O" did I mention we are looking to have 5 HAMB Dragsters! With 2 more weekends to ready the place time is going to FLY. See those of you who are planning to attend the volunteer meeting Friday. Rocky
