They are pretty ugly, but does anyone have one or a photo of one as a custom - mild or otherwise? Apparently there were only 400 made.

Here's a couple shots of one to mess with...

Who owns Warpigg's Chrysler now, still warpigg? Was pretty mild but cool, I dunno if I have pix of it or not.

I like that car...looks like a car Zocchi (sp) would build....Mild chop and a cool color!

is this the MCD replacement? i agree....stance, color, and mild mods would make it a pretty cool little croozer.

  9. I'd sell the 300 to a collector and get a much more common New Yorker or Newport to customize. Heck I saw a nice one just last Sunday at a show in the for sale field.

That said, I kind of like these cars, they don't need a lot changed. 5-spokes, pinner whites, lowering, maybe a mild chop, tunnel the taillights a bit, play with the grille maybe.

Under the skin they're the 1960 cowl and platform, for what it's worth, chopping one with that wrap gl*** will be a *****.

  10. If that's a 63 300-J then yes it's very rare. It looks more like a regular non-letter 300 though. Anyway, they look good with Chrysler wire wheels and white walls. They're pretty well made cars.

I've got a '64 NewYorker 'Salon' model myself.
Don't care too much for the '63 models with their obvious 'plucked wings'-look at the rear, but I do think, since they're considered so ugly in stock form ;) they would look cool when properly customized.
I dig the Foose-like look that photoshopper91 made.

    My heap;

Here's a photoshop I made for my '64 once, before I owned my '60 NY now and put the scallops on that one.

I really dig that dual green '64 wagon that I've seen pics off here at times. Very cool wagon.

At the risk of making somebody mad, I always thought the MoPar designers were out to lunch for a while there. But I agree with RustyNewYorker on a point: The 300 is too nice -- and too scarce -- to customize. Sell to a collector, use the money to customize a more common model of Chrysler.

PhotoShopper 91 did a nice job of cleaning the 300 up, though!

nope, wide whites in a 60's car, yuck....

I'd love to see it lowered with some skinny whites. Kind of torn on the wheels though, maybe some wires or supremes. Some nice paint and roll.

I had a '64 Newport sedan as my first car back in 1996. I love the 63-64 Chryslers. The '64s have a much better stock taillight.

Looks like a nice ride, and if it is a letter car it is worth too much as is...either way, give me your address and I'll get my trailer hooked up and save you the trouble of worrying about it..:D

I vote with the leave it alone group.

Not ugly at all. Leave it alone with a conservative paint job that emphasizes the body lines.

Paint it, throw some wheels on it and drive.....That is what I would do anyway.

Get rid of the ins***ution beige.

I think they put that upsweep on the C pillar because if the 1/4 window was long enough to go all the way into that point it wouldn't have room to roll down into the 1/4 panel or door so it's gotta stay, but the shiny caps on the upsweep at the C pillar window look like they didn't like them after all and wanted to hide them.
Get rid of the cap and sweep the belt trim up the curve and cut the drip rail off at that point.
BigBlockMopar's car shows that it looks better without the shiny cap.
Roof done, no chop necessary, would make it look squashed anyway, unless you swap on a different top like a '67 C/B/O/P maybe.
Lose the bumper guards and the bumpers look damn good.
Just get did of the outline trim around the rear bumper along with all that shiny stuff across the back end.
I like the headlights as is but the tail lights look like a tacked on afterthought.
Tunnel the stock ones in till they are just peeking out or swap them for a light that fits the V'ed in contour of the rear end like the '64 does, although the '64 coffin shape is too harsh a shape for that rounded area. Either way if you french them with no chrome, french the headlights too so the front and rear don't look like two different cars.
    Grill is fine.
Badges, handles, antenna and that gawd awful mirror gotta go.
Just keep the side spear and rocker trim.
Put a mirror on the door but sit in it to find the spot you can see it around the vent window.
14" Supremes/skinny whites, not too lowrider small though.
    On the asphalt....

Please don't do too much to it. They are like Rivs, they don't need much more that rims and maybe exhaust tips.

It's not mine. I just came across it and couldn't recall seeing one as a kustom. I think I'd just go gloss black with Supremes and skinny whites and put it on the ground.
