Mate use it! long and looow drop it and scrape. a longer bed you can fit more stuff in it's preety hard to fit an a body into a short bed.

My black '63 was clean...I liked it long and low...never bagged it though.

Thinking about building a shorty this time....90% of the homies are telling me keep it long.

To me, I thing the longbeds are a tab too long, and the shortys are a little too short...

    Mabey a 7 footer ??

  10. I like 'em both ways. I ran the Pusher long. But I've had several short beds with or without pontoon fenders.

Ya gonna sell it build it short. Ya gonna keep it leave it long. Thye are an excellent hauler and the long bed is a pluss if you're gonna haul some chit. We had an entire '27 T in the bed of the Pusher once.

    Why?
Why not buy a short bed-version instead?
It's not that these cars are rare or something.

Besides that, I never 'get it' why you would want to shorten and limit your pickup's hauling capacity.

If it's of any help, leave it long.
The world is full of small cars already... ;)

Long and strong. Leave it like it is. Why mess up good thing and create that much work. It is alright to keep them OG as long as you keep it out of the junk yard.

Short beds are for people who don't own motorcycles.

Long beds only look good laid out on the ground, so do that and you'll be alright. I'd rather do chassis work than body work.

Shorten it? Man, short beds are for people with short peders, that whole relativity thing comes into play in situations like this.

    j/k

There have been times I wished that the 8 foot bed on a lwb truck was two feet longer. Like others have said, don't cut it, if you want a swb, find one that was MADE that way. It's a truck and it's kool as is, because it's not a darned late model, and nobody has tried to pro-street the poor thing. There...that's it for my opinion worth approximately $.02 or less.

As for reality, you should do what you want with it, and not pay attention to anyone who tells you otherwise.
