Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but has anyone heard of
STREETRODSTUFF of Ohio? I recently bought some stuff over the internet from their website and have not received it (ggrrrrrrr...) I have emailed, faxed, phoned, filled in their feedback form and even given a US delivery address, but all to no avail.

I can't exactly pop over and visit them as I'm in Australia. This is the first vendor I have had trouble with when buying online. Their website looks professional and legit, but I just can't seem to get them to send my stuff.

    www.streetrodstuff.com

Of course, I am remaining very polite, in the vain hope that I might actually still be able to get what I have ordered. Don't like to be $350 out of pocket for no reason.

From the looks of the web site, they are a psuedo dealer. They have no real store front, just a mailing address. It's likely most of their products are drop shipped from distributor warehouses. The bad part for you is that most shipping delays are probably due to manufacturing delays or distribution back-orders. This guy won't have any power to remedy anything.

Thanks for that. I guess you never know who you are dealing with over the internet.

My main frustration stems from their own glowing review of their fabulous customer service - LOL. They won't even reply, let alone let me know what's going on. Fair enough if something is on backorder or there is some other reason for the delay, but to just take my money and not even let me know what's going on is frustrating. It has now been 6 weeks.

:mad:Think I am paddling up a certain creek with no paddle.........

Anyone else had a bad experience....... might make me feel better to know I'm not the only sucker.........

That site went from being on the top of the pack in 2000 as far as street rod message boards go to so overrun with assholes and spammers that they were forced to shut down their message board portion a month or two ago. The original owners sold the site to the current onwers a few years ago. The current owner registered on the HAMB shortly after he bought the site and visited here a few times. I'll see if I can come up wtih his HAMB handle....it's not coming to me right now.

I still can't come up with his HAMB handle but I PM's a HAMB bud this link that use to hang there as well and perhaps he's got some contact info for you that he can share.

Since I am not close to them I did send an email that our site of 70,000+ strong was giving them a little bad press and ask them to take care of business so lets see if that will help you a little. I suggest all the readers of this thread do the same thing and flood there emaill box with nice but negative email to take care of there customers or at least communicate with them. Remember the power opf the press.

I don't have any experience with this paticular company, but about four years ago, I bought a fiberglass Turbo hood for my Regal, on the internet, complete with "customer satisfaction claims". I was told the hood was in stock and should ship in a couple of weeks, after about five phone calls and two and a half months later, (being told that someone else got the hood they had in stock and they were going to have to make another one) the hood FINALLY came!!! I think If I hadn't bugged them like I did, I probably would still be waiting. Good Luck to you, I hope you eventually get what you ordered, just remember, "It's the squeaky wheel that gets the attention." Keep calling, with that kind of "investment" you sure have the right to do that.

OH, AND BTW!!!! This IS the place to pitch a bitch! Thanks for the HEADS UP!!!!

If you paid by Visa or MasterCard, you might be able to reverse the charges for non-delivery of goods, a.k.a. charge-back. There is usually a waiting period, i.e. 30 or 45 days before the credit card company will do this. Give them a call ASAP, PDQ, etc.

Thanks everyone for the ideas, feedback and moral support. I will persist with the emails to them - the timezone thing makes ringing them a pain. A friend of my sister who lives in the US has been ringing on my behalf - also to no avail.

I like the idea of the creditcard chargeback. Originally the bank told me that I couldn't get my money back because I authorised the transaction, but I will chase them up again on the non delivery of goods idea.

Anyway, what I am chasing is a FRENCHING HEADLIGHT KIT. Can anyone suggest a RELIABLE supplier??

holy smack, that company is 15 mins from where my parents live. Not saying I will go bust any heads for you, but I am very close. it is 30 mins from where I live. They are only open M-F 9 AM -6 PM, so I cannot get there unless I take off work.

Hope everything works out for you.

Yup, unless you have some unusual situation you can reverse the charges and get the bucks back. Considering the economy and dishonesty of many, I buy stuff with a credit card for the express purpose of protecting myself.

Streetrod Stuff was established by a very honest rodder, Dick Z, but he sold it to someone who, in my opinion, isn't running it very well. I'm trying to get a phone number for the new owners from Dick but right now all I can do is leave a message on his phonemail. Out of respect for Dick I don't want to post his number here since he doesn't have anything to do with the business anymore.

The new owner's handle on SRS forum was G-Money or something like that. He might be a member here under that handle and maybe someone can find out his contact info.

I'm sure I'll come up with some contact info for the new owners and I'll post it here when I do.

Claire, sorry about not getting back til now. My mom has been in the hospital so I've barely been on the internet.

Dick Z, the founder and previous owner of Streetrod Stuff did call me back and agreed that the new owners have let the business go. He said that the business is being sold again to a no-nonsense straight up group effective in about 1 1/2 weeks. If your order has been charged to your credit card, his advice is to cancel the charge. If it hasn't been charged,he said the outstanding orders will be given top priority once the new owners take over.

The business was his "baby" and he hates to see what has happened to it so he is working very closely with the new owners to regain their reputation. He said he didn't have a problem with me posting his phone # and answering questions you might have. PM me if you want it.

Thanks for that. It must be frustrating for someone to work so hard to build a business up and develop a reputation, only to have it wrecked by the next person.

I have applied to the bank to credit the money back to my account - based on non-receipt of goods. It will be a week or two before I know the outcome.

I will post how I get on with them once I hear back.

Thank you for your help, it has been much appreciated.
