60's Drag Racer reunion Stock,S/S, A/FX Montgomery Ala. 9-25/27

Saw a post on bangshift.com about a drag racers reunion at Montgomery (Al) Motorsports Park this weekend 9-27/27.Listed to show were several T-bolts,full size light weights and a ton of old big name racers. Anybody from the H.A.M.B. going? Dale

 

From the Ford/Lincoln/Mercury forum the following are listed as planning to attend: **** Brannan,Phil Bonner,Hubert Platt,Houston Platt,Tommy Grove,Bobby Woods many more-says 12 T-bolt s coming,3 A/FX Falcons, Cammer Mustangs. Looks like a majority of the cars will be blue oval, but the ad invites anybody with 1960's full bodied race cars to come on down.

I plan on being there with the Ford guys from the Birmingham/Hueytown area...unless the rain sets in.

 

I'll be there! I called the track today for info on this event (Number given on recording 205-515-8360), Saturday 9/26 they will have a car show in the morning, around 1:00 PM the action starts, spectators admission is $15, children 12 and under are free, Sunday will have the finals.

 

Forecast:

Saturday: 7AM 20% chance of thunderstorms; 10AM through evening 40% chance of thunderstorms

Sunday: 7AM 30% chance of thunderstorms; 1PM through evening 10% chance of thunderstorms

High of 85 degrees on both days. Mostly cloudy until Sunday afternoon.

Sorry I didn't get to contact you, I left my info at the office. Had a great time inspite of the rain. We stayed until it was over. In case you left early, the black '73 Mustang fastback won the 1/4 mile bracket over the white GT-350.
