I think its about time that someone resurects this thread. And please keep it alive people! 1st is the early camaro someone spotted in grouchos link, as i also think is bad ass! Then some japanese lowriders. Check out how good their cars look! The main Jap shop for Lows is Cholos, it has a site, just google Cholos Japan, you'll be amazed at the quality of their work, from metal to paint.... yeah, the paint of the boat tail rivi in this pics is theirs, as is the build, not to my taste, but so well executed its incredible! The chevy wagon on wires is more my style, a subtle yet superb car. Others are just plain neat! ...more to come....
I have to say WOW Thanks sooooo much for starting this thread, it brings back so many fond memories for me since i was born and raised a Cali baby, since as far back as i can remember i have loved low riders my dream is to one day make a truely classic on. I think that is why i love me some lowered cars, and that is why my Caddy will be sittin Low and sexxxy
Holy F**K man! This is some serious stuff here! I was scraping pictures from the bottom of my hard drive just to keep this threaqd alive, while you were posting this beauty....... i wonder why you didnt show it b4. Truly a nice car, the lace on the roof looks amazing.... Im kinda speechless right now as my jaw has still to recover fully from the hard hit on the floor...but, got any close interior shots and or details on set up. This is gonna be a thread favorite trust me.
My 2 favorite cars are Lee Pratts 58 and this Olds...It just f@cking RULES!! Heres my new project..stay tuned!
I miss my old lo-lo ... a '69 Impala with flipflop and gold bowling ball panels over a metallic white. Also molded the skirts in. and the bike...
Wow... thanks so much man, Pratt's '58 was actually one of the inspirations for my car. When I took the Olds to Gary Seeds to get the roof done, I brought a picture of that roof! For my man that was asking, the car is stock, mostly original and complete with the exception of the paint, air-ride & wheels. Interior was redone in the original style as well. Its what I feel a lowrider should be; all stock w/ full trim, quality paint & layin' low. Just working on my accessories & locating the right set of Skylarks for it.
Just as i thought! It looked like it was all stock except for what you mentioned, but wanted to hear that from you. What brand wheels are those anyway, they look really neat and classy, i were you i'd probably stick w/ them, but then again, i might change my mind once i see it w/ the skylarks you want. I say it again, really nice ride. bonez
whats up ese,I met you in the mountains of Santa Fe at my homegirl D's wedding.Tell becca I said hi.......
Great thread! I can't beleive I missed this thread till just today. I have a long history and love for Lowriding since 1974. I also have a quite a connection to the local Lowriding scene here in Chicagoland since 1980. My Custom Bonnie circa 1977... My buddies "Six-Four" circa 1983... Here's a shot of a paint scheme I designed on another friends' Monte circa 1982... Keep 'em coming, Joel
Another Californian that begs to differ... Real Lowriders hail from Califas.. (San Jose (King & Story), L.A (Whittier, Van Nuys, Crenshaw), Salinas (East Alisal), Fresno (Blackstone), San Diego(Chicano Park).. etc) If you dig down to Lowriding roots I think you will find that a lot of the early Lowriders from Tejas came to LA and went back to Tejas telling stories about Lowriding... Anyways lets see more pictures! here's one I've posted before... Monico Aldape's Six Four What year do you think this was? How I started my new year... Man, someone grab ChevyGirlRox quick! I had to be the one to inform her that the OG "Gypsy Rose" met it's fate at the hands of some HOOLIGANS! Hell yeah, the '63 is the ruler!
It's not Saul's Rivi... but it was taken in 2008. It's my friend RJ's from Newark, CA... He's going to paint it soon -Juan
Ahhh... that's right. Getting my bad-ass Rivi's mixed-up! Sick photo though... looks like some corner of heaven in 1978. ...and what do you mean he's PAINTING it?! I f'n LOVE the brown suede!!!
