Event Coverage CHRR 09 who's going

all right its time for real drag racing.
our group are going again.
dale emery, tinker & charles faulkner and first time for ronny young.
and we be from dallas texas.
we are really going to party.
now lets see whos the farthest coming.

i do know right now raymond godman and preston davis's group and rip are going.

 

I'll be attending after not making the last 2. Overall, I've only missed 3 since it started in 1992. Looking forward to my favorite event of the year.

Probably going to have to go as a spectator though. Would really like to run the AA/FD. Car is ready, wallet is empty, need nitro and a chassis tag. I got 2 weeks still to enter. Either way, it'll be a great time. If you have not been to it, you need to go.

Haven't gone in 3-years...

Got tired of the golf carts, and the shift away from nostalgia, with the martian FED's, and the swap meet gomers with everything marked-up 300%...

Bah, I'm going to Temple...

I'd rather spend $55 in a Taco Bell rod run, then $55 to the nhra lunchbox.

 

4 of us are going from mich, and indiana, 2nd time for me and 3rd or 4th for the other gang. good time.

All day Friday, off to the Doubletree for that, some of Saturday, then off to Pomona swap meet later Saturday and all of Sunday

I'm going! Why would i not as I live in LA! One of the most fun events around, second only to the March Meet. But bring a coat, we froze last year on Saturday night!

I will be there... This is 16th time for me. It is just amazing that this show gets better each year.

 

I agree with some of the guys about the damn golfcarts and mini bikes. I wish they would put up some parking stops to put an end to that*****! It's getting harder and harder every year to walk around and my girlfriend can't see over the crowd if we're down by the fence but you know what, every year this is the one we can't wait for! Count us in for Saturday at least.

 

Yep ban the golf carts...especially those a-holes that park along the fence.
Last year I saw a guy pull in front of everybody, lift up the cart with some hydraulic jacks they installed, and block the view of everyone behind.

Ban the golf carts from everywhere except the pits!

I especially get a laff out of the guys who walk around talking about the cars they had and raced when it's obvious they don't know which end of a wrench to use. There are more rodders now that claim to have rods back in the 50's then we actually had back then...

 

stay home and run errands...? NOT!

 

I will fly out from Dallas Thursday morning. My first trip to the CHRR, been to the March Meet more times than I have fingers. Sure am ready for a In and Out hamburger! See everyone there.

the carts thing, yea some of its is out of hand. but some of these old timers don't get around very good and they deserve a ride around to see others. my 2 cents

 

I'll be there for sure. I'll probably hit the Rattle Can Nats up at Harris Ranch on Thursday evening and Friday morning, the head back down to CHRR.

Tinker51, You got to go back and check my post, I did not mention anything about golf carts. You confused me with the next post. But since we are on the subject, I don't have a problem with the old timers cruising around checking things out in golf carts. They paids their dues.

I'll be there...Fri. night and all day Sat. Rattle Can Nats @ Harris Ranch on Thur.

 

We'll be there with the GizzleHopper.

Were making a vacation out of it kinda. Taking the Northern route Houston-Dallas-Wichitaw Falls, Amarillo, then Route 66 to Barstow. Taking our time to see the desert. After the CHHR, it's "direct drive" to Houston. Stops only to pee and eat only.

Gotta be at work on Tuesday
