I live in a wooded area, I’m working on a frame for my 40 chevy coupe in my driveway. The dam ground squirrels, chipmunks are storing nuts inside. I have a couple of small dogs that chase them, but don’t catch them. Any body have any tips on keeping the vermin out of the frame?

Tub's description above is exactly what my father used to suggest...but then again, Hardcores seems like more fun.

I don't know if moth balls actually work but I know people that use them for this purpose.

I had a Siberian Husky that killed everything from ground squirrels, chipmunks, gophers and would jump in the air and knock down birds. When she got old she'd play possum in the yard and let the squirrels get close and nail them. Huskies are great hunters and if you could rescue one you'd have a mini wolf that loves to hunt. They also love the cold weather. As one of our members says, "Can't have too many dogs ect" Good luck, The FOGGER

I had a cat. Called him Smoke, he used to bring squirrels home to show me that he was a great hunter. He would always be around helping when I was working on the cars. Sure miss that that cat.

The above joke has nothing to do with my signature line. Do a web search.

I thought TexasHardCore had the answer with the most fun until Kiwi Kev came in and got all serious on us... now that is almost over-compensating...almost. Good luck with them, they can definately tear up and mess up stuff

  19. '40 Chevy frame, if I remember right, is the stamped hat on a thick bottom, so it's only open on the ends? At least the ragtop carcass we brought home was like that.

So maybe you could plug up the ends when you're not working on it. Hell, weld a piece of metal over the end, it only has to be tacked to stop them.

The bucket trick works very well, it's like they play follow the leader right into the bucket. I've played Rambo with the BB gun also, and is quite effective, but stalking takes away from my garage time. My neighbors cat's spend most of there spare time in my yard (crapping in my mulch) and they dont seem to upset the rodents at all. Hell anybody got a bucket big enough for a cat.

I guess I'll have to empty the junk out of one of my buckets.

rustynewyorker, you're right on the frame, but this one has a chevelle clip on it making it easier for Alvin.
